At the biggest tech show, Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona, Travis the Translator, which has introduced pocket AI translators to the world has announced new variants for Travel and Business. These new products are meant to fill the gap related to language barriers.
Travis has come up with these new editions of its translators after listening to the requirements of its business and travel users. Eventually, these new editions cater to their requirements and become a true pocket companion as they travel to a different country.
At the Holland Pavilion, Travis has been exhibiting its AI-powered translators from February 25 to February 28. The following are the editions launched by Travis.
Travis Touch Plus
This is a standard edition with an Auto Mode. It lets more eye-contact by pressing the button at the middle once. Users can select the two languages with their voice and just speak in either of these languages. The device will speak out the translated voice. Notably, it supports 105 languages.
Travis Travel Edition
The Travis Edition is better than the Touch Plus. It comes with a global SIM card with a VPN Internet Hotspot, a travel voice assistant to know the time and currency conversion and a language learning mode to let users check the correct pronunciation.
Travis Business Edition
This has the Read-in-Mode, which gives subtitling in several translated languages without any interruption during business presentations and meetings. It also provides downloadable transcripts in numerous languages.
Travis Mega Pack
The Travis Mega Pack is the ultimate solution for business travellers. It includes all the features that are seen in the other editions. Also, it comes with a wireless charger.
Lennart van der Ziel, CEO of Travis, says that his company is poised to ease the challenge of multi-language travel, business and life: “We listened to our customers, and we now have the ultimate pocket companion for Business & Travel. We are offering real-time translation and transcription records all under one roof.”
Travis was founded in 2017 by Lennart van der Ziel, Nick NM Yap, Brend Kouwenhoven in Rotterdam. Till date, this Dutch startup has raised €2.3 million funding in Indiegogo crowdfunding. It has shipped 120,000 devices across the world in one year of its launch. It is aimed at creating a language movement by raising communication bars and eliminating the communication blocks.
