Last update:

Amsterdam-based OTB Ventures, a VC focused on DeepTech companies, announced on Wednesday, August 6, that it has invested in Timeseer.AI, an Antwerp-based time-series Data Operations (DataOps) software company.

However, the exact financial details were not disclosed.

Why the investment?

The growth of IoT/OT data with the urgent need to integrate AI/ML models into operations at scale, creates a perfect storm for data quality platforms – the effectiveness of AI models is highly dependent on the quality of the underlying data.

If not addressed, companies could end up in a vicious cycle of a “garbage in, garbage out” problem in their operations.

Here’s where the Belgian company steps in to address the challenge.

Led by Bert Baeck, Timeseer.AI‘s software automates the overall data orchestration throughout an organisation to deliver high-quality, on-demand data to organisational customers.

The company’s software automatically detects, analyses, and resolves data issues before they can adversely affect operations and critical business decisions.

The Belgian company will use the funds to support technologies that drive advancements in AI enterprise automation.

OTB Ventures: What you need to know

Founded in 2017, OTB Ventures focuses on investing in early-growth, post-product DeepTech startups in the CEE market.

The VC focuses on early-growth startups (late Seed, Series A, and B) that develop unique technologies in four verticals: SpaceTech, Enterprise Automation & AI, FinTech Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.

OTB Ventures is currently the largest VC originating from the CEE, managing over $350M. OTB Ventures has two offices: Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Warsaw (Poland).

Mateusz Lukasik, Partner at OTB Ventures says, “Low quality of IoT/OT data is a primary bottleneck in the widespread adoption of AI models in industrial settings. Timeseer’s vertical-agnostic software can automatically address this issue on a large scale across multiple industries.”
