Eindhoven headquartered AI-based edtech startup chunkx announced that it has secured Seed funding from LUMO Labs, through the LUMO Fund II. The company hasn’t disclosed the exact figures.
Fund utilisation
The capital will allow the Dutch/German startup to continue work in AI-based educational content generation and to prepare chunkx for further growth.
“We strongly believe that learning is a continuous process which does not stop with the end of a lecture or with the last page of an eLearning course,” says Florian Stieler, founder of chunkx.
“With chunkx, we allow every user to continue their learning journeys. LUMO Labs is the perfect partner for us; a partner who shares our vision, who brings in a strong tech focus, and who supports us at the internationalisation of our business,” he adds.
Chunkx: What you need to know
Founded in 2018 by Florian Stieler, chunkx is an AI-enhanced microlearning application that creates a curated and personalised learning experience by selecting content adaptively.
The company uses it through the combination of smart algorithms, artificial intelligence, and user-based content selection. The company uses NLP for individual recommendations and automatic creation of interactive micro-learning units.
The platform selects the content based on the user’s needs and can create new content automatically to ensure continuous development.
The platform targets business as well as educational institutions, including universities. Currently, the company is working with National Anti-Doping Agency Germany which allows them to turn their traditional e-learning course into an adaptive learning experience.
After only three months, more than 6,000 athletes in Germany are following their academy, with around 50,000 expected to follow by 2023, claims the company.
The edtech startup is based at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and in Düsseldorf, Germany.
