Eindhoven-based Sendcloud, a shipping platform for e-commerce, has acquired Rotterdam’s Lox, a company specialising in delivery issue management.

This acquisition aims to enhance Sendcloud’s ability to address global shipping challenges, particularly the complexities and costs associated with delivery issues.

Aim of the acquisition

Common problems such as lost, delayed, or damaged parcels significantly impact e-commerce businesses with unresolved issues increasing shipping costs by 5–10 per cent.

In the EU, where 19 billion parcels are shipped annually, each delivery claim requires an average of 25 minutes to resolve, underscoring the importance of efficient delivery management solutions.

Lox simplifies the management of delivery issues by centralising the process across multiple carriers, helping businesses save time, lower costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Its automated system detects and resolves delivery problems, reducing claim processing times by up to 80 per cent.

Trusted by brands like Vestiaire Collective and Fairphone, Lox enhances Sendcloud’s platform, which helps over 25,000 businesses optimise and scale their delivery operations.

Rob van den Heuvel, CEO and co-founder of Sendcloud, says, “Shipping remains one of the most complex and costly aspects of e-commerce, especially for small and medium-sized businesses striving to compete with industry giants like Amazon.”

“With Lox on board, we’re equipping businesses to resolve delivery challenges faster and more effectively while reducing cost, ultimately transforming the entire delivery experience for both e-commerce businesses and consumers alike.”

Dylan Hirsch, co-founder of Lox, adds, “Joining Sendcloud is a natural evolution of our shared mission to solve shipping globally. Combining our expertise in delivery issue management with Sendcloud’s robust shipping platform allows us to amplify our impact, helping online businesses around the world navigate delivery challenges with ease.”
