Lisbon-based Emotion Mobility, a global SaaS mobility software group, announced a strategic growth investment from a growth equity firm, PSG Equity.
PSG Equity is a growth equity firm that works with software and technology-enabled services companies. The firm helps companies manage growth, pursue strategic opportunities, and strengthen teams.
Since 2014, PSG has invested in more than 150 companies and supported over 520 add-on acquisitions. Currently, the firm operates from offices in Boston, Kansas City, London, Madrid, Paris, and Tel-Aviv.
Romain Railhac, Managing Director at PSG, says, “Kieron Chalder and Gonzalo Carmona have built a high-quality mobility platform, trusted by blue-chip customers, with strong fundamentals and a leading position in a market undergoing rapid transformation.”
“We are excited to back their ambition to further scale Emotion globally, continue expanding the product suite, as well as help strengthen the value delivered to customers as the platform grows.”
Driving innovation in fleet management software
Emotion Mobility provides fleet and mobility software through a cloud-based platform for rental, subscription, operational leasing, chauffeur, and courtesy vehicle operations in more than 90 countries.
Its products, Rentway and Carpro, help mobility providers — including large groups, independent operators, franchise networks, and OEMs — digitise operations, improve vehicle use, and increase profitability.
Emotion works with customers, including Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, and Volkswagen, to manage a fleet of nearly 1,000,000 vehicles worldwide.
Partnership with PSG
The partnership with PSG will allow Emotion to advance its technology roadmap, expand into international markets in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, and pursue strategic M&A.
The company will focus on platform investment, expanding product functionality, supporting innovation, and increasing its capacity to deliver long-term value to customers.
Kieron Chalder, co-CEO of Emotion Mobility, says, “This partnership with PSG will help us unlock our next phase of growth, as we accelerate innovation for our existing customers, expand into new geographies and pursue strategic acquisitions that will further solidify our leadership within mobility software.”
Gonzalo Carmona, co-CEO of Emotion Mobility, adds, “Our mission is to provide comprehensive and reliable fleet management software for mobility businesses. Given PSG’s track record in vertical SaaS and their experience in building global software leaders, in our view, it was clear they were the right partner for us as we enter this next phase of growth.”
