Thomas Vanhumbeeck, Co-founder and CEO of FixForm, the smart maintenance platform, announced that he is stepping down from his role after 4.5 years at the helm.
He also announced that he will step away from day-to-day operational involvement through a LinkedIn post.
“It’s one of the hardest decisions I’ve made — but also the right one. There’s a special kind of courage in starting something — and an equal kind in knowing when to pass it on,” he says.
While stepping down from daily operations, Vanhumbeeck will remain involved as a shareholder and advisor.
Looking ahead, he plans to take a short break to focus on personal well-being before exploring new opportunities.
“I’m a builder at heart,” he added. “That part never really stops.”
Thomas will be succeeded by Edward Boute as the new CEO.
Who is Edward Boute?
Edward is a businessman with 25 years of experience in the industry. He has successfully led Google Cloud in Belgium and Luxembourg for the past 10 years, significantly increasing its revenue.
Before Google, he worked at VMware and HP and served as Organisation Director at AB InBev, where he managed global reorganisations and budgeting.
His career includes various roles, including owner, CEO, and nonprofit hockey club president.
“He brings the clarity, energy, and operational focus needed to lead FixForm into this next chapter. I’ll remain close as a shareholder and advisor — just not in the driver’s seat anymore,” says Thomas.
FixForm: Transforming facility management
Founded in 2021 by Thomas Vanhumbeeck and Jan Abeel, FixForm offers facility maintenance by streamlining issue detection and reporting. Its mission is to maintain spaces and buildings in good, safe, and clean condition.
The company’s platform facilitates collaboration between visitors, staff, technicians, and service providers, allowing for efficient reporting and resolution of maintenance issues. Users can quickly report problems by snapping a picture.
FixForm prioritises human collaboration by enabling building occupants to report issues directly via a location-based QR code or website in under 10 seconds, without requiring an app or login.
The AI-enhanced system automatically forwards reports to the appropriate person, eliminating manual ticket creation and reducing errors.
Last year, the company raised €1.5M in a fresh round of funding from Pitchdrive, Imec.istart, Delaware Ventures and StarApps, along with angel investors like Lorenz and Boris Bogaert, Wim Derkinderen, Koen Christiaens, Stefan and Dieter Willems.
