French startup Mirakl provides enterprise marketplace solutions for retailers, consumer brands, wholesalers and distributors. The Mirakl Marketplace Platform offers a solution that’s easy to integrate into any e-commerce website and helps them build a marketplace with third-party sellers. Now, the Paris-based startup has developed a marketplace dubbed StopCOVID19.fr.
Well, this new marketplace is meant to centralise both the supply and demand of essential products during the fight against the coronavirus outbreak. Notably, this project is backed by the French government.
Essential supplies will be available
Already, many French companies are working towards manufacturing hand sanitizers, masks, gloves, and other such essential suppliers needed by healthcare professionals and people to stay protected against coronavirus. However, there are many notable challenges in the supply chain. Eventually, hospitals might face issues in getting essential products in time.
This is where StopCOVID19.fr will be of help. It is not an open marketplace and only people working for a health facility or an industrial company that makes COVID-19 protection products will be able to access it. The French government has already screened all sellers listed on the marketplace currently. To create an account on the website, you need to contact Mirakl.
Companies can interact among themselves
Initially, the e-commerce marketplace developed by Mirakl to fight coronavirus will deal with hand sanitizer. It will later expand to other protective products that will be helpful in serving its purpose. It will help companies and public institutions interact with each other. This way, hospitals need not waste time in contacting the manufacturer of essential products directly.
Moreover, such a comprehensive marketplace will be an essential to analyse the inventory of such products in times of crisis. It will also be useful to distribute masks and other essential products to fight coronavirus across the country during the lockdown.
Philippe Corrot, the CEO of Mirakl said, “As a high-tech company, we examined all possibilities of how we could put our expertise to use to combat this unprecedented crisis. At Mirakl, we feel very lucky to be able to help French doctors and healthcare workers. We are committed to providing assistance to our fellow French and European citizens during this very difficult time. The goal behind this marketplace, which we set up in 48 hours, is to organise the value chain that has been implemented to respond to this crisis. The Mirakl teams have been working tirelessly to ensure that all product references are duly listed from the sectors committed to help cope with this situation.”
