Last update:

Paris-based Opus Major, a new game studio founded by Jean-Nicolas Vernin and Pierre-Armand Nicq, has raised $10M (nearly €9.22M) in Seed funding. Griffin Gaming Partners led the round, which included participation from early investor Alven.

The funding will support the development of Opus Major’s first project, a multiplayer game centred on music. The studio aims to integrate music into gameplay to create interactive experiences.

The founders of Opus Major mention, “Our mission at Opus Major is to make the world jam together. We have experienced countless joyful memories while playing music and video games with friends.”

“Our original spark came from a simple idea: can we bring them both together and build a great social adventure where music is magic? A multiplayer game where you could form a band of heroes with your friends and save the world through the power of music? We decided to build our first opus to fulfill this mission. We have been working hard with our team of jammers to offer a first glimpse of our universe in 2025.”

Founded by experienced industry professionals, Opus Major is building a game where music plays a central role in gameplay. The studio aims to create a universe where players collaborate through music-driven mechanics.

Pierre Planche, Partner at Griffin, says, “Music and gaming are both powerful ways to connect with people, and Jean-Nicolas and Pierre-Armand are combining them in ways that feel familiar yet unique. The team are some of the most passionate and genuinely creative people, we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

Opus Major is growing and recruiting developers, designers, and creatives. The studio is seeking talent to support its development efforts and expand its team.
