The Hague-based FroggyTalk, a platform supporting the African diaspora in finding everyday needs while living abroad, has raised €300K in a seed round of funding.
The round was led by the SI3 Fund of Shaping Impact Group (SIG), an investment organisation based in Belgium.
Commenting on the partnership, Dave Dirks, Partner at SIG, says, “FroggyTalk’s mission aligns beautifully with our vision of reducing inequalities and promoting inclusion. By addressing both connectivity and integration challenges, the team is tackling one of the most persistent barriers to well-being for African communities in Europe.”
FroggyTalk has been part of the We Are Changemakers incubator since November 2024, gaining mentorship, partner connections within the Dutch social innovation network, and access to a community focused on social impact.
The Dutch company has also received key support from the Dutch New Narrative Lab (DNNL), contributing to its growing user base and operational progress.
Supporting the African diaspora abroad
Founded in June 2023 by Oluseyi Akinnibosun, FroggyTalk operates a digital platform that links the African diaspora with their countries of origin and supports their social and cultural connection abroad.
The company’s progress is driven by its community-focused model and engagement with users. FroggyTalk offers international calling services and a Radio Hub that streams African FM stations, enabling users to listen to programs from their home regions.
FroggyTalk’s platform has reached a key milestone, with users recording more than 3.6 million minutes of listening on the Radio Hub. This reflects FroggyTalk’s role in maintaining connections between African communities abroad and their local cultures and information sources.
Capital utilisation
The funding will help FroggyTalk expand its international calling service and use AI to develop localised integration tools for African communities across Europe.
Oluseyi Akinnibosun, founder and CEO of FroggyTalk, says, “This investment is wind in our sails. With SI3’s support, we are moving from simply connecting people through voice calls to solving deeper challenges migrants face daily, from documentation and legal support to financial inclusion and mental well-being.”
Henry Onyezi, co-founder and CTO, adds, “This investment allows us to scale our infrastructure using AI while we improve user experience.”
