Munich-based deepc, a medtech company, announced on Tuesday, March 28, that it has secured €12M in a Series A round of funding led by Sofinnova Partners with participation from Bertelsmann Investments and Winning Mindset Ventures.

The German company says it will use the funds to develop new features and expand the commercialisation of deepcOS, its proprietary operating system that powers AI integration within radiology workflows.

The proceeds will also help expand the company’s geographic coverage and to develop additional features within deepcOS.

As a part of the funding round, Simon Turner, Partner at Sofinnova Partners, will join the company’s Board of Directors.

A digital medicine pioneer

Founded by Dr. Franz Pfister, Julia Moosbauer, Paul Mayer, and Dr. Michael Meyerhoff, deepc is on a mission to provide radiology teams with access to the best regulator-approved AI diagnostic tools.

The company’s cloud-native, vendor-neutral platform deepcOS integrates seamlessly with existing radiology workflows, offering approved third-party AI vendors an efficient way to commercialise their solutions.

It also provides hospitals and clinics a secure, “one-stop-shop” for their AI-assisted radiology needs.

“At deepc, we believe that AI has the power to revolutionise the way we approach healthcare,” says Dr. Franz Pfister, co-founder and CEO of deepc.

“Our AI platform, deepcOS, is a game changer for radiology, allowing for faster, more accurate diagnoses and ultimately improving patient outcomes. We are thrilled to welcome Sofinnova Partners and Bertelsmann Investments on board,” says Pfister.
