Based out of Munich, Holidu is one of the fastest-growing travel tech companies worldwide that aims to make the search and booking of vacation rentals easy. Recently, the search engine company has raised a €40 million funding in Series C round led by Prime Ventures, with participation from coparion and MairDuMont Ventures.
Additionally, the existing investors, including EQT Ventures, Venture Stars, Senovo and business angel Chris Hitchen also participated in the round as well. So far, the company has raised €45.8 million.
The company is intending to use this funding to develop its products – Holidu and Bookiply platforms. In addition to it, they are planning to use multiple regional offices in an attempt to widen its portfolio with partners.
Johannes Siebers, CEO, and co-founder of Holidu:
We are thrilled to work with such a strong group of investors including Prime Ventures and EQT Ventures,. The funding will accelerate our growth and help us create unique value for our partners, travelers, and vacation rental owners.
How was Holidu born?
Holidu was born out a frustrating experience by Johannes and Michael Siebers while booking a vacation rental for a surfing trip to Portugal. According to the founders, they spent hours browsing through dozens of websites to find the right accommodation and realized that some of the rentals were offered on multiple sites for different prices.
Save up to 55% in bookings!
For the unknown, Holidu was founded in 2014 by brothers Johannes and Michael Siebers. The company’s search engine uses proprietary image recognition technology to compare the prices of millions of rental properties across hundreds of websites, including Airbnb, Booking.com, and HomeAway.
Bookiply helps vacation rental owners!
On the other hand, the company also helps vacation rental owners multiply their bookings with less work through its independent software and service solution under the Bookiply brand.
Notably, Bookiply serves vacation rental owners by distributing properties to the largest travel websites, synchronizing calendars, and creating multilingual descriptions as well as professional photos.
Acquired Hundredrooms!
Last year, Holidu acquired its Spanish competitor Hundredrooms in an attempt to boost its growth organically. It is a vacation rental metasearch with the main focus on Spanish speaking countries.
Available in 21 countries!
Furthermore, the German online platform enables users to find the ideal accommodation quickly and to save up to 55% on their bookings. The search engine platform is now available in 21 countries, serving more than10 million visitors per month.
