Index Ventures, a multi-stage international venture capital firm recently raised a capital of $1.65 billion for two new funds. Dividing this fund into two – the firm is planning to invest $1 billion in the growth rounds, whereas the $650 million will be spent on helping smaller startups in its early rounds. Having said that, Index Ventures has raised around $7.25 billion overall till date, using that money to seed and grow hundreds of startups.
30% rise in funds
Founded in Switzerland in 1996, Index Ventures has raised 30% more fund this time than it raised in 2016. It’s worth mentioning here that the firm has earlier back some of the significant startups including Dutch FinTech scaleup Adyen, Dropbox, iZettle, and Zuora.Â

As of now, Index Ventures is planning to help some of the promising startups including Bird, Deliveroo, Slack, Robinhood, Revolut, and Patreon.

Currently, Index Ventures has 21 people on its investment team, with 7 women onboard. Last month Bird raised fund around $2 billion valuations, with Index investing on it. Talking about it, Index Venture recognized the potential for Bird, after analyzing its global perspective of the company.Â
