London’s Isomer Capital announces first close of new €100M fund; backed by British Business Investments again

Last update:

Isomer Capital, a London-based VC investment firm focused exclusively on European Venture Capital, has announced the first close of €100M opportunities fund – Isomer Capital Opportunities.

The new co-investment fund is backed by British Business Investments through its £500M Managed Funds Programme, designed to address the patient capital funding gap in the UK.

It’s worth mentioning that British Business Investments also invested in the €250M Isomer Capital II Fund of funds.

Various foundations, corporations, and family office investors from Europe, Asia, and the US, also participated in the funding round. The primary goal of the opportunities fund is to build upon the success of ‘Isomer Capital I.’

British Business Investments

British Business Investments is a subsidiary of British Business Bank plc. The company aims to earn a commercial return by investing, through finance providers, in smaller businesses and small mid-caps, pursuing investments on a fully commercial basis without receiving any economic advantage from the government.

Judith Hartley, CEO of British Business Investments, says: “Isomer Capital is a specialist fund of funds manager, with well-established venture and growth capital investment capabilities. This commitment to Isomer’s co-investment fund is well aligned with the strategic aims of the Managed Funds Programme and will provide a steady stream of capital to innovative growing businesses across the UK.”
