Slovakia-based Luigi’s Box, an AI-driven e-commerce platform, has acquired Prague-based Persoo, to solidify its position in search optimisation in the Czech and Slovak markets.

Brief about Persoo
Founded in 2014 by mathematician and AI expert Jakub Černý, Persoo aims to replicate the personalised shopping experience of traditional retail in the e-commerce space.
Using AI and ML algorithms, Persoo accurately identifies customer preferences, presenting them with relevant products. The company envisions the future of e-retail centred around personalised search implementation.
Aim of the acquisition
Luigi’s Box, a tech company founded in 2014 by Gejza Nagy, Tomas Kramar, and Michal Barla, specialises in providing intelligent product search and recommendation solutions for e-retailers.
Currently, the Slovakia-based company serves over 3,500 e-retailers with its intelligent search platform. The recent acquisition of Persoo aims to enhance services for clients like Alza, Muziker, and pharmacy chains Benu and Dr. Max, bringing innovations to the e-commerce market.
The multi-million euro acquisition marks a strategic move for Luigi’s Box, which has been profitable for four consecutive years. The company will integrate Persoo into its operations and expand its presence in the European market.
Co-founder of Persoo, Pavel Pinkas says, “Persoo and Luigi’s Box have been following and inspiring each other for several years. Over the years, the idea of joining forces came up several times, and the merger was completed at the end of last year.”

Luigi’s Box reports that AI-driven search optimisation is crucial for e-retailers, constituting up to a quarter of total turnover and even more in certain segments.
The firm mentions that there are only 1 to 5 per cent of searches with no results when correctly configured, compared to 10-20 per cent or higher for non-optimised sites. Persoo’s solution boosts search conversion rates by an average of 10-15 per cent.
