Blockchain is believed to be the next big thing and is all set to revolutionise all businesses irrespective of the industry. Some countries are cracking down this tech by encouraging companies to take a dive into the blockchain technology. The Netherlands is one such country that has emerged as a leader on this front as it is home to numerous blockchain startups.

One such blockchain company based in Amsterdam is Bitfury Group. Fiunded in 2011 by Valery Vavilov, Bitfury develops blockchain solutions for businesses, organisations, governments, and individuals. It offers solutions such as bitcoin mining, blockchain security, asset management, cryptocurrency compliance, and datacentre cooling.

Launches AI division!

In a recent development, Bitfury has announced the launch of its AI division. It will work with the blockchain services portfolio of the company. The company’s engineering team has been building the Artificial Intelligence division for several years.

“Just as blockchain technology enables us all to fix our most broken and distrusted systems, artificial intelligence will bring new and extraordinary benefits to nearly every facet of our lives,” said Valery Vavilov, CEO and co-founder of Bitfury. “To help this incredible technology achieve maximum impact, Bitfury is expanding our mission to offer hardware and software solutions designed especially for AI applications.”

AI products on cards

The new AI division will use Bitfury’s existing hardware and software technologies. With Artificial Intelligence, the Dutch blockchain unicorn intends to build integrated product solutions and cloud-to-edge enterprise solutions for governments and corporations. The first AI products from Bitfury will be launched later this year.

Ropes in veteran technologist

Besides the launch of the AI division, Bitfury appoints veteran technologist, Fabrizio Del Maffeo to lead the same. Del Maffeo was the former Vice President and Managing Director of AAEON Technology Europe, which is ASUS Group’s AI and IoT computing company.

Del Maffeo said, “I look forward to leading Bitfury’s AI team and to launching products that make it easier, safer and more cost-efficient for businesses to adopt artificial intelligence at scale.”

Blockchain projects from Bitfury

Bitfury’s blockchain projects include Exonum, which is a private blockchain framework; Crystal Blockchain, an advanced analytics platform; and Lightning Peach, an open-source lightning network project.
