French on-demand logistics startup Cubyn leverages technology to provide a logistics solution letting merchants reduce the cost by up to 30% without compromising on the customer experience. It is a pioneer in the industry and a leading market leading in the e-commerce logistics marketplace in Europe.

Founded in 2014 by Adrien Fernandez-Baca and Mathieu Lemaire, Cubyn has processed more than 2 million shipments since its debut. In the first half of this year, the company processed a higher number of shipments than the whole of 2018.

Raised €12M funding

Cubyn has just announced that it has raised €12 million series B funding led by DN Capital along with participation from 360 Capital Partners, Partech Ventures, BNP Paribas Development and BPI Finance. This increases the total funding raised by the logistics startup to €20 million making it the uncontested market leader in this industry in Europe.

As of now, Cubyn has a team of 60 and is all set to hire 50 more employees by the year-end. And, it has a team of more than 300 packers and couriers.

Launches Cubyn Fulfillment

Besides the latest round of funding, the company rolled out Cubyn Fulfillment, a new product partnership with Backmarket, a leading refurbishment marketplace. And, Backmarket is already using Cubyn Fulfillment. It lets merchants integrate their e-commerce inventory in a single click and scale their sales sans any logistics-related concerns. They will be able to monitor all these processes from a single interface.

How it works

When an online order has been placed, the new fulfilment offer automatically exports and processes it from a Cubyn warehouse. The parcels are directly injected into the best carrier network to reduce the transit time and enhance the quality of delivery. It leverages shipping data from millions of parcels in an attempt to improve customer satisfaction for marketplaces and merchants.

“Cubyn Fulfillment disrupts the old e-commerce third-party logistics market from the ground up with a better, faster and fully integrated service at a 30% lower price point. We are giving merchants a way to outperform their competition in terms of cost, delivery quality and speed” says CEO & co-founder Adrien Fernandez Baca.

New strategic hires!

Cubyn has hired three key senior members from Amazon to oversee the rollout of Cubyn Fulfillment. The recent strategic hires are Grégoire Hirtz, former head of Amazon Prime for France as a VP of Operations, Raphaël Renault, former Head of France Cross-border Transportation at Amazon as a Head of Operational Excellence and Marie Chaussade, former Operation Manager at Amazon Logistics as a Warehouse Manager.
