Barcelona-based Glovo, an on-demand delivery startup, announced on Thursday, March 2, that it has launched a new Impact Fund where a small portion of Glovo’s profits from each order will go towards supporting Impact & Sustainability initiatives.
The Impact Fund is expected to generate €5M by the end of 2023.
This money will assist initiatives in local communities, environmental protection efforts, digitalisation of small local companies, narrowing the gender gap in tech, and courier upskilling programmes. This includes money that has been set aside for these initiatives since the middle of 2021.
Sébastien Pellion, Head of Impact and Sustainability at Glovo, says, “It’s critical that businesses step up to empower those in need and protect the planet. Glovo customers will support initiatives that create positive change for communities and the environment with every order.”
