Berlin has progressed to become one of the most important cities for tech startups in Europe. A couple of decades ago, the city lacked the presence of major tech companies but now things have changed significantly and Berlin takes the pride of welcoming many big players in the industry set up their office there and is home to many small tech startups.

Founded year: 2018

Why its hot: CoachHub is a “mobile coaching cloud”, which enables personalised coaching for employees of all career levels. It covers fields like time management, stress management, and leadership skills. It is a digital coaching provider offering holistic people development to companies with a forward-thinking. As of December 2019, CoachHub recorded 549% growth.

AUTO1 Fintech

Founded year: 2017

Why its hot: AUTO1 Fintech is a platform offering instant financing and insurance products to automobile dealerships buying and selling used vehicles. Auto1 Group has teamed up with Deutsche Bank AG and Allianz SE to expand fund those buying used vehicles. AUTO1 Fintech has recorded a growth of 580% as of December 2019.

Why its hot: TIER Mobility was founded with the intention to change urban commuting with its e-scooter rentals that will ensure making it possible to reach the last mile. The company reduces pollution caused by urban commuters with e-scooters. As of now June last year, TIER Mobility has witnessed a growth of 381%.

Why its hot: Automation Hero formerly known as SalesHero aims to help sales employees of a company to increase their work efficiency. The startup uses AI to offer them simple ways to automate their back-office processes or repetitive paperwork such as filing an expense report, updating the CRM, etc. Automation Hero has garnered 309% growth as of December 2019.

Why its hot: German e-scooter service Flash that was rebranded Circ sets itself different from the other e-scooter service providers with out-of-the-box design and build solutions. It is involved in the development of both technology and hardware for the same. Circ runs limited pilot programs in select countries and wants to expand across Europe. Circ has gained 251% growth as of December 2019.

Why its hot: Quarters is changing the way people live together and share their lives around the globe. The proptech startup creates co-living spaces for people where they can live, grow, relax, and enjoy under one roof. This German co-living startup has witnessed around 221% growth as of December 2019.

Why its hot: Taxfix is a tax declaration mobile app, which supports users throughout the tax declaration process. It ensures that users get the most reimbursement. The German fintech startup does not require users to fill any forms. It simplifies the task for them as they just have to answer some questions and upload necessary documents for tax reimbursement. As of December 2019, Taxfix has garnered 161% growth.

Why its hot: Sennder is a logistics platform and marketplace that connects commercial shippers with smaller freight carriers. The digital trucking company digitalises the truck-loading-shipping ecosystem by providing mobile apps to drivers, fleet management tools to carrier managers and logistics management solutions to shippers.Sennder has gained 136% growth as of December 2019.

Why its hot: Travel tech startup Tourlane is a booking platform for multi-day tours from Germany. The travel startup works directly with service providers and offers customers flights, accommodations, tours, activities, and transfer options all in one place. It has witnessed 129% growth last year.

Why its hot: MILES Mobility is a carsharing startup, which is quite different from the rest available in the space. It charges users based on the distance travelled and not time or traffic. This Berlin-based mobility startup that received funding in 2019 has witnessed 106% growth in the same year.
