Founded back in 2014, Staffbase (formerly “Eyo MitarbeiterApp”) is a German software-as-a-service provider of employee apps. The employee app transcends the barriers of online and offline communication and creates a common space for employee exchange.

Basically, Staffbase is a B2B SaaS company founded by Frank Wolf, Lutz Gerlach and Martin Böhringer in Chemnitz, Germany.

Secured €20.5M funding

In a recent development, Staffbase has raised $23 million (nearly €20.5 million) Series C funding. This funding round was led by Insight Partners along with participation from existing investors including Kizoo Technology Capital, Capnamic Ventures and e.ventures. This takes the overall funding raised by the company to $35 million (nearly €31 million).

The investment will be used to further expand the product portfolio and drive expansion in the core markets of Europe and the U.S.

Simple and flexible service

Staffbase has created a flexible and simple mobile front layer designed for the employees. As employee communication players a critical role for the people-first workplace, the company ensures high customer satisfaction. Recently, Staffbase was listed by Gartner as one of the leaders for employee communication applications.

Useful for customers with non-desk workers

The employee management platform has customers located across the world belonging to different industries. Each of their customers gives priority to an engaged workforce understanding the company’s purpose and struggle to access the updates and services. Mostly, customers with non-desk workers at distributed locations without an app will be disconnected from the service.

DHL is a customer of Staffbase and has rolled out to over 350,000 employees across hundreds of locations spread in more than 200 countries. Other notable enterprise customers that use Staffbase are Adidas, Brinks, Siemens, VodafoneZiggo and MAN.

Complements collaboration solutions

Martin Böhringer, co-founder and CEO of Staffbase said, “We will expand our communication platform with HR Services, and on the other hand, we will position the employee app worldwide as a central front door to the digital workplace. Staffbase complements collaboration solutions such as Slack and Microsoft Teams with a tool for synchronous interaction with all employees in large companies. For many of our customers, being a mobile-first portal makes us the ideal entry point to business applications such as Office 365, SAP, or Salesforce.”
