Last update:

Madrid-based SENSIA, a company specialised in infrared (IR) imaging technology, announced that it has secured €19M in funding led by A&G Energy Transition Tech Fund and SETT (Sociedad Española para la Transformación Tecnológica).

This strategic investment in SENSIA was formally announced when Mr. Óscar López Águeda, the Spanish Minister of Digital Transformation and Civil Service, Mr. Antonio Hernando Vera, the Spanish State Secretary for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, and other government officials visited and toured SENSIA headquarters in Leganés (Madrid).

With this investment, SENSIA will accelerate the development and production of its IR sensors based on nanotechnology, reducing dependence on external suppliers.

Additionally, the funding will allow the company to scale operations, and expand its international reach.

SENSIA: Provider of AI-powered infrared imaging

SENSIA is a leading manufacturer and developer of advanced infrared imaging solutions.

MWIR and LWIR image sensors are essential for applications such as the sustainability of industrial activity, aerospace, and national security, among others.

It also supports Spain’s goal of being self-sufficient in producing IR imaging photodetectors, which are key components of IR cameras that work in the MWIR (mid-infrared: 3-5 microns) and LWIR (far-infrared: 7-14 microns) ranges.

The company specialises in Optical Gas Imaging (continuous monitoring and handheld), intelligent infrared imaging, continuous monitoring, automated optical gas & flame detection, and thermography.

SENSIA now operates in over 45 countries across the world in industries like oil and gas, industrial chemical, security, defence, and more.

Francisco Cortés, CEO and founder of SENSIA says, “At SENSIA, we have always dared to believe that we can contribute our grain of sand to global challenges through our passion for creating cutting-edge technology. The trust of our investors, both existing ones and A&G Global Investors and SETT, is a responsibility and a boost to our commitment to the challenges facing society.”
