With the Covid-19 pandemic again on the rise, the demand for digitisation of production processes has seen a massive surge. This is where Amsterdam-based SwipeGuide comes into play. The company is on a mission to save the world from purposeless instructions and deliver the most intuitive way to standardise work in the manufacturing industry.
SwipeGuide is a B2B SaaS company that provides a knowledge performance platform for the manufacturing industry to help them capture, scale, improve, and automate critical operational knowledge.
SwipeGuide raises fresh funds
In a recent development, the company has announced that it has raised €5M in a fresh round of funding led by Speedinvest. Besides, CapitalT, Plug and Play Ventures, and existing investors Newion and Brumbucks also participated in the round.
Speedinvest is one of Europe’s most active early-stage investors, with more than €400m AUM, 40 investors, and offices in Berlin, London, Munich, Paris, Vienna and San Francisco. Its portfolio includes high-growth tech companies like TWAICE, crate.io, TIER Mobility, and Senseforce.
Silicon Valley-based Plug and Play Ventures and existing investor Newion are participating in the round. Amsterdam-based Newion is a venture capital firm that focuses on early-stage investments in European B2B software companies.
With this fundraise, Marie-Helene Ametsreiter – lead partner of the Speedinvest Industrial Tech team supporting the digitisation of Europe’s Industrial Tech sector, and Janneke Niessen – founding partner at CapitalT and serial entrepreneur – will be joining the board.
Use of the capital
The raised capital will help SwipeGuide to accelerate its international expansion and digital transformation in factories worldwide.
The company operates out of Amsterdam and Chicago with 25 employees and aims to double its staff in 2021. To date, it has raised a total of €6.3M in funding.
Scalable digital work instructions
Established in 2016 over a mutual frustration with traditional paper instructions, Daan Assen and Willemijn Schneyder founded SwipeGuide to change the way we work and learn in a manufacturing environment.
This IndustrialTech company offers AI-enabled digital work instructions, and standard operating procedures, for global manufacturing companies.
Speaking about her startup, SwipeGuide’s CEO Willemijn Schneyder explains, “We bring simplicity in a world where complexity is still the norm. With SwipeGuide’s focus on crowdsourced knowledge performance, companies can finally embrace frontline workers’ expertise, empower a new generation of workers, and trust that their standards will reflect it. Our platform’s AI-driven technology is the key component to identifying and scaling best-performing knowledge resulting in downtime reduction.”
The company’s platform is used in more than 200 plants in 89 countries worldwide, with more than 30,000 unique monthly users. Giants such as PepsiCo, Heineken, ABB, and Orkla are using SwipeGuide to help teams easily digitise crucial instructions, operational routines, and procedures. The data & control points harvested through execution help identify improvement potential at scale.
