Mobile World Congress (MWC), one of the world’s biggest technology tradeshows that happens every year in Barcelona, Spain officially kicked off on February 25 this year and it will continue till February 28. Under one big roof, it brings together the latest innovations and leading-edge technology from more than 2,400 leading companies.

In fact, MWC 2019 surprised us with a number of interesting and innovative devices this year. With over 107,000 key decision-makers expected to attend, MWC19 is also the place for fast-growing European deep scaleups from the leading accelerator, EIT Digital to showcase their top-notch solutions and build industry connections.

Here we take a look at the 9 outstanding alumni and portfolio scaleups which are present at the mammoth event under the umbrella of EIT Digital.

Apifon (Greece)

Based out of Greece, Apifon provides a messaging automation platform that helps business to communicate with their customers effectively. grow revenue and improve the customer experience. Founded by Konstantinos Stroumpakis, the cloud platform, Mookee, enables communication through multiple channels: SMS, RCS, Email, Viber and other chat apps.

CopSonic (France)

Founded by Emmanuel Ruiz in 2013, CopSonic enables contactless, password-free authentication for smooth, highly – secure transactions from any device. The technology is based on ultrasounds and sounds like a way to connect, interact and transmit data. Based out of Montabaun, France, the company has clients include Natixis, Airbus, Cora, Accenture, Microsoft, SNCF, Orange, RATP, Arkea, Crédit Agricole, Capgemini.

Enerbrain (Italy)

Founded by Alexis Susset, Enerbrain helps to improve the financial productivity and comfort of buildings without the need to modify any of the existing systems. Based out of Torino, Italy, Enerbrain gives energy intelligence to every building thanks to a groundbreaking Plug & Play kit coupled with machine learning algorithms to save and manage energy while improving comfort. Clients include Carrefour, Engie, Iren, Caselle Airport, Scuola Holden.

Galgus (Spain)

Based out of Camas, Spain, Galgus offers WiFi technology for vertical markets used by manufacturers and system integrators to deliver high performing WiFi networks all over the world. Their solution maximizes wireless performance and makes WiFi five times faster. Galgus has customers in aviation, manufacturing, rail, maritime, hospitality and residential sectors. At the MWC Galgus is presenting its new cybersecurity feature: Wireless Intrusion Detection and Prevention System.

Electronic Identification – eID (Spain)

Headquartered in Madrid, Electronic ID helps identify customers remotely by providing the same technical security and legal compliance as face-to-face identification. Founded by Ivan Nabalon, its patented identity verification solution VideoID combines video in streaming and AI to identify customers in seconds, from any country with any ID document. Clients include Santander, KPMG, Self bank, Caixabank, Carrefour, etc.

Minut (Sweden)

Minut develops Point, an all-in-one smart home alarm that combines cutting-edge technology with beautiful design. Based out of Malmo, it is easy-to-install and packed full of sensor, it can instantly alert the user to threats in its home. Minut’s customer includes Safeland, Noonlight, SkenarioLabs, Informed Actions.

Open Cloud Factory (Spain)

Based out of Madrid, the Open Cloud Factory offers software solutions to provide visibility and total control over corporate networks and ensure their security.

Their enterprise solution OpenNAC allows discovering all the devices that are connected to company’s infrastructures, profiling, segmentation, and control of network access. Customers include Telefonica, Banco Santander, La Caixa, Orange Madagascar.

Based out of Madrid, Redborder is an open source solution for traffic visibility, Big Data analytics and dynamic cybersecurity. It enables the creation of customizable dashboards and reports for networks and Managed Service Providers. Founded by Jaime Nebrera, the company has customers include Grupo Santander-Produban, CISCO and various venues.

SmartViser (France)

SmartViser offers an innovative testing solution for network operators, mobile device manufacturers and their subcontractors. Based out of France, the solution brings insight on service usage from the mobile point of view, no matter if manufacturer or network. SmartViser’s solution is used by Orange, SFR, Auchan, LG & Huawei, Elisa (Finland) etc.
