Last update:

Automation Hero, formerly known as SalesHero aims to help company’s sales employees to increase their work efficiency. The Berlin-based startup uses AI and offers them simple ways to automate their back-office processes or repetitive paperwork like filing an expense report or updating the CRM etc.

Raises $14.5M funding

Now, Automation Hero has raised $14.5 million (nearly €12.8 million) funding led by Atomico along with participation from Baidu Ventures and Cherry Ventures to lead AI and data-centric Intelligent Process Automation. With this, the startup has now raised a total of $19 million (€16.8 million approx). The new funding will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and expand its international team.

In addition to the new funding round, Ben Blume, the principal at Atomico will join the board of Automation Hero. It is worth noting that the company recently roped in Peter Voss, the former Datameer CTO.

“Stefan is an experienced entrepreneur and exceptional technologist, with a relentless focus on building hyper-growth companies with category-defining products that provide clear value to enterprise-scale customers. Intelligent Process Automation will drive a whole new kind of transformation across major business processes, and Automation Hero’s highly experienced team is incredibly well positioned to deliver this to organizations around the world,” said Ben Blume, principal at Atomico.

Founded by Stefan Groschupf with over 25 years of experience in machine learning, the team of Automation Hero started Datameer, an award-winning big data business intelligence company in 2009. It has over 50% of the Fortune 50 companies as customers and secured a place in Analytic Magic Quadrant and Gartner’s BI in five years.

So, how does it work?

Automation Hero’s AI and intelligent process automation platform tackles the problems with an all-new approach. It does this through an AI assistant called Robin, which is inspired by the Batman and Robin superhero theme, and it’s gender neutral.

Its platform runs highly scalable and distributed automation flows that weave clock robots, unstructured and structured data sources, data processing, deep learning and the human workforce together into an intelligence fabric creating an OS for the modern enterprise.

Automation Hero is witnessing global growth within large enterprise sales organisations with high ROIs from automation. The three primary use cases are eliminating manual repetitive and time-consuming tasks, augmenting sales rep decision making and automating common customer requests. This company helps customers in telecommunications, financial services and travel and tourism receive millions of ROIs by saving their employees’ time up to one hour a day.

Simple to use automation processes

Automation Hero’s simple to use automation recording capabilities can be quickly picked up even by novice users. The advanced automation can be built easily from the numerous functions in the platform’s intuitive Flow Studio. It is a platform to personify attended automation as a personal AI assistant handling repetitive tasks.

Automation Hero is available in the cloud or on-premise and is built with the highest levels of scalability, customisation, data governance and security in mind.

“Automation is the enterprise AI killer use case. However, the decade-old RPA technology out there has only slapped on AI – calling Cloud AI APIs or OCR tools. Given our experience we have built an enterprise-ready AI automation platform from the ground up,” said Stefan Groschupf, CEO of Automation Hero. “We’re already seeing our customers create automation in days, increase productivity and improve customer satisfaction with impressive revenue impact.”
