This med app developed by Dutch startup helps patients take their medicines on time

Do you struggle to remember to take your medicines on time? Well, taking your medications when your body needs them is very important to stay healthy. And here is a Dutch startup to help you with it.

Raises more than a million funding

Dubbed as MedApp, it is a medicine platform that was established four years ago. Moreover, now, various investors who are active in healthcare, including Health Innovations, are investing in it. As cited in multiple media reports, the Dutch company has secured more than €1 million funding. With this, MedApp has completed its second investment round. There are no details available on the amount raised by the company in its first round.

The complete medication management solution

Basically, MedApp helps medicine users to take their medicines in a timely, correct and safe way. The latest investment will help the company to serve an even larger proportion of the 3.5 million chronic drug users.

Pit Janssen, pharmacist and CEO of MedApp Nederland BV explains: “The quality of life of medicine users can be higher. That’s why I started MedApp together with Edwin Hermkens (COO). MedApp improves therapy compliance by helping people with proper medication use. Our app now has more than 200,000 users. With this new investment we can better align our platform with their needs and reach even more people. The growing interest of major players in the healthcare market, including health insurers and pharmaceuticals, confirms that they too see the added value of our solution. ”

Research shows that therapy infidelity is a cost item of billions of euros per year. In MedApp we see an eHealth platform that effectively tackles this problem. How does the app work?

To use MedApp, one needs to download the app and set up alarm clocks that warn when to take medication. It also helps in managing medicine supply and can also submit repeat requests to the pharmacy.

MedApp is a free app available for both, iOS and Android smartphone users.
