Last update:

Amsterdam-based Surebird, an insurtech startup, has closed a fresh funding round. The investment came from the Dutch Operator Fund, Quantum Leap Capital and Bright Business.

The investment brings notable industry expertise to Surebird’s advisory structure, with former Independer CEO Coen de Ruiter joining as Chairman of the Advisory Board.

“Better insurance for less!”

Surebird operates as a comprehensive insurance management platform that consolidates multiple policies into a single digital interface. The platform continuously monitors insurance portfolios and provides recommendations when policy changes or renewals occur.

The company offers a comprehensive range of insurance services, including car, building, home contents, personal liability, accident, travel, legal expenses, and caravan insurance.

Surebird’s platform uses automated systems to compare insurance options and protect customers from premium increases. The service eliminates the need for customers to manually review and compare policies, instead providing ongoing optimisation through algorithmic monitoring.

The platform provides a single point of contact for customer service and claims processing, while offering free cancellation services for existing policies. Surebird positions itself as a lifetime insurance partner, managing customer insurance needs as circumstances change over time.

Brief about the Dutch Operator Fund

The Dutch Operator Fund is a joint initiative of seven Dutch entrepreneurs who are also active investors in start-ups. They have pooled their knowledge and network to support the Dutch start-up ecosystem, particularly companies driven by innovation.

The fund, known as Dutch Operator Fund I, focuses on technology-oriented startups in the pre-seed and seed phases. Its goal is to build a portfolio of startups that align with one another, using the founders’ experience and networks to support development and growth.

Current investments include Fellos and Surebird. The team offers both operational insight and access to a network of founders and investors to support companies during market entry and expansion.
