Netherlands-based digital men’s health clinic Fellos announced that it has secured €650K in a pre-seed round of funding, surpassing its initial target in a short time.
Fellos is the Netherlands’ first digital clinic specialising in men’s health, providing accessible, high-quality care for those hesitant to visit a GP (general practitioner).
The platform connects patients with BIG-registered doctors and a Dutch partner pharmacy for consultations and prescriptions. It focuses on treatments for conditions like erectile dysfunction, hair loss, premature ejaculation, and acne.
Founded in 2024 by Rob Smeitink and Sibren Tolsma, Fellos has already helped over 1,000 patients and aims to support one million people across Europe by 2030.
Investors supporting Fellos
The investment came from three sources including experienced pharmacy entrepreneurs, a prominent e-commerce entrepreneur, and Dutch Operator Fund I – an investment group of seven seasoned entrepreneurs and angel investors.
Jeroen Bertrams, one of the initiators of Dutch Operator Fund I, mentions, “After assessing more than 250 pitches since the launch, Fellos is our first investment. The team has not only created a strong product but also responds to a clear need in the market.”
“The rapid growth since the launch confirms that men need accessible healthcare for specific health problems, such as erectile dysfunction, hair loss, premature ejaculation and acne.”
Capital utilisation
The investment will support Fellos’s platform development and expand access to men’s care needs.
In a statement translated from Dutch, Rob Smeitink, co-founder of Fellos, says, “The rapid growth of our healthcare platform proves that there is a demand among men for a place where they can go for care in an accessible way.”
“To be ready for the future, we will use part of the investment to further develop our healthcare platform.”
Fellos-affiliated doctors aim to advance healthcare digitalisation through the platform.
GP Maurits Westenberg, who is participating in the new digital healthcare platform, says, “Given the increasing demand for care and the pressure on healthcare, digital clinics can be a huge solution for both patients and GPs for certain less complex healthcare needs.”
Co-founder Smeitink, adds, “We offer men who previously avoided their GP an alternative, in which the quality of care remains paramount. Fellos is also not a replacement for the current healthcare provision, but an addition. By using technology intelligently, we make primary care more accessible.”
