Barcelona-based QualiBooth, a digital accessibility startup, has secured €2M in new funding and established partnerships with several leading global retailers.
The funding will accelerate product development and fortify QualiBooth’s investment in European market presence.
The Barcelona office will serve as a hub for its customer success, marketing, and product design teams. The company also plans to accelerate its growth in the United States.
QualiBooth: Simplifies web accessibility compliance
Founded in 2022, QualiBooth makes web accessibility compliance easy with real-time scanning, monitoring, and detailed reporting.
The platform includes an accessibility checker, real-time dashboards, and a development assistant to guide organisations in meeting ADA, WCAG, and EAA standards.
As per the company’s claims, QualiBooth has rapidly become a trusted partner for brands and organisations seeking to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which came into effect on June 28th.
The European Accessibility Act mandates that many businesses operating in the EU ensure their digital products and services are accessible to people with disabilities.
This includes e-commerce websites, banking apps, ticketing platforms, eReaders, media players, and customer service interfaces.
To date, QualiBooth has conducted over 1,000 accessibility audits and helped resolve billions of compliance issues.
The platform detects up to 20 per cent more issues than conventional tools and enables teams to take real, actionable steps toward full accessibility, beyond the superficial fixes offered by accessibility overlays and widgets.
Clients using the platform report accessibility scores over 90, well above the industry average of 63.
Upcoming research from the company shows that better accessibility is linked to increased online sales in European e-commerce.
This growth is partly due to more accessible brands being more visible in Large Language Models (LLMs), which helps them reach more customers.
“Awareness around the link between LLM visibility and digital accessibility is improving, but remains surprisingly low,” says Ken Kralick, CEO of QualiBooth and former Global Head of eCommerce at Puma and LVMH. “What’s more, less than 30% of European retailers currently publish accessibility statements – yet as of June 28th, the EAA requires many to do so. We’re here to ensure compliance doesn’t come at the expense of user experience or brand trust.”
