Node VC is known for backing early-stage tech companies with strong engineering foundations and the potential to reshape legacy industries.
“We love investing in teams that solve complex problems in industries that have been slow to change. What sets Acembee apart is how quickly they’ve moved from idea to real-world traction. That kind of momentum is rare in this space,” says Henrik Tellving, Partner at node.vc.
The Danish company will use the funds to accelerate the digitisation of the construction industry, which is one of the most polluting and least digitised sectors in the world.
The announcement comes as new Danish climate regulations are placing stricter limits on CO₂emissions from building activities, especially during the construction phase, capped at 1.5 kg CO₂e/m²/year.
Acembee: Digitising the construction industry
Led by Oline Ryberg Stærke, Acembee is on a mission to make construction more efficient, transparent, and climate-conscious.
The company’s AI-powered platform automates the collection and reporting of energy and emissions data on construction sites.
It replaces spreadsheets and fragmented systems with real-time data collection and actionable insights, enabling contractors to make faster, smarter decisions on site.
As a result, it helps the teams reduce energy waste, lower costs, and work towards meeting legal requirements.
“We need solutions that can simplify the ever-increasing documentation requirements in the construction industry. Acembee’s system does exactly that, creating significant value for us as contractors. It helps us save time and work more efficiently with the many documents that come with a construction project,” says Christian Svenninggaard Kjeldsen, Head of Sustainability at KT Erhvervsbyg A/S.
