Hückelhoven-based JTL-Software, a German software provider for multichannel commerce, has announced the acquisition of Amsterdam’s shipping intelligence platform Bringly. The move is part of JTL-Software’s plan to expand data-driven logistics in Europe.

The acquisition will integrate Bringly’s orchestration and intelligence tools into JTL-Shipping. Merchants will have access to additional options for managing and optimising shipping operations.

A shipping platform for e-commerce

Bringly is a logistics technology company that supports e-commerce businesses in managing shipping operations across Europe.

The company was founded in 2016 after its founders observed differences between logistics in the US and the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, e-commerce logistics are controlled by a few large players, creating dependence for webshop owners on how those companies manage operations.

Bringly’s founders aimed to create a more transparent logistics chain to allow businesses to reduce costs and manage shipping independently. They developed a local system that uses details such as postal codes, local pickup rounds, courier hubs, and store locations to deliver from local stores to local customers.

Early pilots showed that local improvements could generate measurable gains, and the system was later expanded to operate at national and international levels.

Bringly integrates carrier networks and software tools to give businesses control over their shipping processes and optimise operations. The company emphasises transparency in the transport chain and aims to provide businesses with direct control over deliveries.

Aim of the acquisition

JTL-Shipping acquired Bringly to expand from execution into shipping orchestration. The acquisition introduces modular tools for merchants, including multi-carrier orchestration, AI-driven shipping insights, post-purchase notifications, and claim and issue management.

The integration allows merchants to anticipate delivery disruptions, compare delivery methods in real time, and route shipments based on cost, speed, or sustainability. The system can flag underperforming routes, suggest alternative shipping options, and manage customer communication to reduce failed deliveries.

Rajiv Laigsingh, CEO of Bringly, says, “Shipping generates enormous amounts of data that often go unused. We built Bringly to turn that data into valuable decisions. By joining JTL, we can scale this vision to tens of thousands of merchants – making shipping not only faster and more cost-effective, but also smarter, with a seamless customer journey.”

Bringly will be available as a dedicated app within JTL’s platform, providing merchants access to these tools in a fully integrated way.

Sebastian Evers, CEO of JTL Software, adds, “With the addition of Bringly, our merchants will gain more flexibility and control in their daily shipping operations. From choosing the right carrier to handling claims or keeping customers informed after purchase, JTL-Shipping will now offer tools that directly reduce costs, save time, and improve the delivery experience. This is a significant step in helping our customers run more efficient and resilient businesses.”

JTL-Shipping’s acquisition of Bringly reflects trends in European e-commerce logistics, enabling the platform to support merchants in cross-border trade and international expansion by combining JTL’s ERP scale with Bringly’s carrier network.

The acquisition also supports JTL’s goal of creating an e-commerce ecosystem where retailers can manage end-to-end processes, including merchandise management, shipping, and customer communication, through a single platform.

JTL aims to serve as the central point of contact for digitalisation in e-commerce.
