Amersfoort-based SimaPro, the science-based life cycle assessment (LCA) software developed by PRé Sustainability, has joined forces with Helsinki-based One Click LCA.

Together, they now provide a “world’s largest and most advanced” LCA platform for various industries and aim to reach 1 million users by 2035.

For 35 years, PRé Sustainability has focused on life-cycle thinking to help organisations make science-based decisions with measurable results.

They offer consulting, software, expert training, and methodologies, along with impact data for better decision-making.

SimaPro is their main life-cycle assessment software. SimaPro Craft is designed for advanced modelling, while SimaPro Synergy allows for easy data integration and large-scale calculations of environmental impact.

SimaPro is used by both industries and academic institutions for reliable insights into sustainability.

The announcement comes over a year after acquiring Buildrz, a Paris-based company that provides generative AI software for real estate analysis.

This integration offers access to over 500,000 LCA datasets, supporting more than 140 global standards and serving users in over 170 countries.

According to the company, a dedicated team of support specialists and the One Click LCA Academy, which provides free certifications worldwide, enhance this platform. PRé also adds its expertise and consulting services.

Post merger, both SimaPro and One Click LCA will remain separate products, each retaining its strengths, while benefiting from shared investments in artificial intelligence, data integration, expanded databases, and compliance solutions.

As sustainability regulations tighten globally, the company offers a simpler and more effective way for clients to meet these requirements.

Their solutions assist with key regulations such as the EU Construction Products Regulation and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

Additionally, they also provide customised support tailored to various sectors, including construction, manufacturing, consumer products, and infrastructure.

One Click LCA is a life cycle assessment (LCA) platform used in over 170 countries. It combines the detailed modelling features of SimaPro with a user-friendly interface.

The platform has a large global LCA database with more than 500,000 datasets and serves various industries, including manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, chemicals, and consumer goods.

The platform helps organisations comply with important regulations like the Construction Products Regulation, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
