ABN AMRO has secured €250M in funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to provide loans and leases to Dutch businesses. Based in Amsterdam, ABN AMRO is a Northwest European bank for retail, corporate, and private banking clients.
In collaboration with the EIB, ABN AMRO will contribute an additional €250M, resulting in a total of €500M in new loans for the market. This partnership, the fifth of its kind, aims to offer competitive financing options for Dutch businesses.
ABN AMRO is a Dutch bank serving over 5 million clients with a focus on Northwest Europe. The bank provides a full range of financial products and solutions and employs more than 19,000 people.
Capital utilisation
ABN AMRO will use the funds for sustainable investments and businesses, encouraging a transition to a more sustainable society.
Fred Bos, ABN AMRO Bank’s Head of Commercial Clients says, “We are delighted once again to be in a position to offer EIB financing to our clients. The EIB offers more favourable conditions and, in this way, helps to accelerate the transition to sustainability.”
The Dutch bank can access up to €12.5M per investment project, offering direct interest rate discounts for Dutch SMEs. For further details, check the EIB’s website or visit www.abnamro.nl/nl/zakelijk/producten/financieren.
Kris Peeters, Vice-President of EIB adds, “We have been partnering with ABN AMRO for many years to help ensure that Dutch small and medium-sized businesses have access to the finance they need.”
“These days, we consider it essential that investments meet sustainability requirements, but we also appreciate that the green transition does not make finance any easier, especially for small and medium businesses.”
“This requires extra support and attention, and we are therefore pleased to be able to rely on our cooperation with local partners like ABN AMRO.”
The EIB, representing the 27 EU Member States, including the Netherlands, prioritises supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) as a key focus in its lending policy.
