Rijswijk-based Aethon, a company addressing societal challenges by solving staff shortages, has received a €9.6M investment from Amsterdam‘s Endeit Capital.
Martijn Hamann, Partner at Endeit Capital, says, “Aethon is leading the transformation of workforce management across Europe — and doing so in a way that benefits organisations, professionals, and the public.”
Endeit Capital sees the investment as a contribution to shaping the future of work in essential sectors.
Hamann adds, “We back companies that help entire industries become future-proof. Aethon is leading the transformation of workforce management across Europe — and doing so in a way that benefits organisations, professionals, and the public.”
An all-in-one workforce platform
With increasing demands in healthcare, childcare, education, and public services sectors, organisations face pressure from staffing gaps, regulatory demands, and a dispersed supplier base.
Aethon addresses these challenges through a two-part strategy: using technology to improve workforce planning, sourcing, and management, and investing in training to expand the labour pool.
The company’s strategy centres on Aelio, its workforce platform. Aelio enables organisations to manage flexible staffing through recruitment, matching, workforce planning, supplier coordination, compliance tracking, cost control, and performance monitoring, all within one system.
Aelio also streamlines the job experience for workers by allowing flexible scheduling, easier access to roles, and clear information on pay and expectations.
The company claims that over 100 companies are using its Aelio platform to reduce time-to-fill, support workforce satisfaction, and create operational efficiencies.
Mitchell de Bos, Managing Director of Aelio, says, “Our clients operate in complex, high-pressure environments. They need more than visibility — they need agility. With Aelio, they can anticipate demand, scale the right workforce at the right time, and make smarter decisions that reduce costs and improve continuity of care.”
Scaling impact across Europe
Aethon plans to use the funds to support the development of its Aelio workforce platform. The company will expand Aelio’s functions, increase its use, and integrate AI across staffing and training processes.
It will also strengthen Aethon’s ability to address labour shortages in healthcare, childcare, education, and public services.
Chris Kok, Managing Director of Aethon, says, “Many people are eager to contribute to healthcare and education but face barriers like a lack of training or flexibility to work when and how they want. We’re removing those barriers — combining technology with targeted learning to ensure essential services remain staffed and resilient.”
Kok adds, “Endeit’s support allows us to deepen our technology and expand our impact at a critical moment. We’re proud to work with a partner who shares our belief in the power of human-centred innovation.”
