Last update:

Belgium-based Ambassify, an Employee Advocacy platform, has acquired Social Seeder, a key player in the local market.

Employee Advocacy and Employer Branding are becoming strategic investments that contribute to business success. Companies focusing on these areas aim to grow, scale, and maintain a competitive edge.

Ambassify has acquired and merged with Social Seeder to strengthen its position in Europe and expand its influence in Employee Advocacy and Engagement.

Brief about Social Seeder

Founded in 2013, Social Seeder combines a strategic approach to employee advocacy with a communication platform that builds connections and fosters engagement.

Initially offering basic social media sharing features, it sought to engage individuals close to an organisation, such as employees and customers, by turning them into online ambassadors.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted working conditions and disconnected employees from company life, Social Seeder’s focus shifted to Employee Advocacy and Engagement as companies recognised the need to motivate and connect their teams to enhance relationships, trust, loyalty, and productivity.

Patrick De Pauw, former Social Seeder CEO, says, “It’s a pity that the Social Seeder story had to end. But I’m pleased that, with Ambassify, our customers will find a solid partner for their Employee Advocacy initiatives.”

“The combined knowledge and data both companies have built up over the years will allow our extended team to expand beyond our current markets, launch new initiatives, and redefine the broader space of Employee Advocacy and Engagement together.”

Aim of the acquisition

Social Seeder and Ambassify share a common mission to help companies harness the power of employee voices to achieve various objectives, such as enhancing marketing, simplifying recruitment, and boosting internal engagement.

Both focus on activating and empowering employees through the use of advanced tools.

Koen Stevens, Ambassify co-founder & CEO, says, “2024 has been an important year for Employee Advocacy & Engagement, as well as the Employer Branding market, and we can sense an upcoming wave of consolidation.”

“I’m happy we’re one of the first to take action by acquiring Social Seeder, a well-known player with a strong reputation for ease of use and customer support that matches our Ambassify values.”

“Our acquisition of Social Seeder underlines our market leadership in the Benelux and adds fuel to our growth in the EU and APAC. The merger definitely has great potential after the pioneering work our teams have done to bring employee advocacy and employer branding to the local markets.”

“The combined knowledge and data both companies have built up over the years, and specifically Patrick’s thought leadership and network, will allow us to develop new initiatives that will redefine the broader space. Especially now, when budgets are under pressure, our shared vision will become more essential than ever.”
