Amsterdam-based flexible car subscription provider anyways picks up €700K: Here’s why

Amsterdam-based flexible car subscription provider anyways announced that it has secured €700K funding in a pre-seed round.

Investors who participated in the round include job van der Voort (GitLab and Remote), Horizon Flevoland, Alef Arendsen (founder of NewMotion), the syndicate River Venture Partners of Herman Kienhuis and Maurice Beckand Verwee, and Nalden (founder of from WeTransfer).

The company will use the funds to accelerate growth and enhance the customer experience to the next level.

anyways: Flexible car subscription

Founded by Wesley de Kruijff and Ilse Vonk, anyways launched their flexible car subscription earlier this year. 

According to the company, millennials, in particular, have a massive need for a large degree of freedom and flexibility. anyways’ concept aims to respond to this with a flexible service that ensures that a car is at the customer’s door within 72 hours.

Wesley de Kruijff says, “anyways makes smart use of what is already there, in this case, the stagnant car stock of car dealers, among others. This fits with our philosophy. By cleverly using what is already there, we can offer this in a super flexible way. So we have to keep up with current trends. We don’t care much about owning a car, but we do care about using it when you need it.” 

“There are plenty of cars standing still at car dealers that we would like to get moving. At anyways, we don’t believe in standing still, we want to move forward. And along the way, we always look at where things can be improved,” he adds. 

The company uses cars that come from the stock of car dealers. “In this way, we make smart use of what is already there,” said Wesley de Kruijff, CEO and founder of anyways

The Dutch startup offers four types of cars, of which the city car costs €300 per month including insurance, maintenance, road tax, breakdown assistance, and 1,500 KM.
