Amsterdam-based Bundleboon, an online curated shopping service that filed for bankruptcy in February, is set to get a new lease on life under new ownership.
Paris-based Little Cigogne, a company that is already an established player in the personal shopping industry, has taken over the Dutch brand.
Bumdleboon co-founder, Nelli Jeloudar, calls it “a blessing”.
“Little Cigogne has the right infrastructure and reputation and it makes me proud to see such a big party taking over Bundleboon and leading it to heights we always dreamt of. Although the bankruptcy was tough and heartbreaking, it is still a great blessing to know that the Little Cigogne team will continue the legacy of Bundleboon,” says Jeloudar.
Little Cigogne: Offers curated children’s fashion
Founded in 2013 by Mathieu Waltzer, Little Cigogne is the European leader in curated children’s fashion.
The French platform revolutionises the shopping experience with its unique and personalised looks, creating a surprise event for the whole family.
The startup has already enjoyed great success in France and has expanded to Germany, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Little Cigogne has three private labels which are exclusively offered in the outfit boxes for children aged between 6 months and 14 years.
The company has also recently launched a box service for women under the name Plumaïa.
This new addition to the Little Cigogne brand is set to bring more individuality and personality to every wardrobe.
With the acquisition of Bundleboon, Little Cigogne will now expand its services to Dutch and Belgian customers. These customers will continue to enjoy the personalised and free service provided by Little Cigogne’s stylists, and the boxes will be enriched with the company’s creations.
Mathieu Waltzer, founder, and CEO of Little Cigogne, says, “We are delighted to provide our curated shopping service for children to the Bundlebooners. Nelli and her team have created a strong brand with customers who are very attached and satisfied with the unique service.”
“This takeover is part of our strategy of rapid development in the Netherlands, a market in which we have just established ourselves and for which we have strong ambitions,” adds Waltzer.
Bundleboon: For the new generation parent
Founded by Monique Janke and Nelli Jeloudar in 2018, Bundleboon is a curated shopping service tailored to suit the needs of the new generation of parents.
The startup offers parents a collection of exclusive brands and personalised outfits uniquely styled for their children.
In 2020, Bundleboon received €500,000 from well-known entrepreneur and investor Pieter Schoen in the Dutch Dragons’ Den programme.
