A brief about Amsterdam Capital House

Amsterdam Capital House is an annual event organised by the Capital House agency. The initiative was founded in 2015, previously known as Amsterdam Capital Week. Since then, more than 100 events have taken place in the Netherlands, with over 10,000 attendees.

The organisation is led by Directors Simone Schoutens and Shahar Graf, two female entrepreneurs who have been devoted to growing the Dutch startup ecosystem over the years.

Amsterdam Capital House offers more than 35 online sessions such as webinars, masterclasses, discussions, and interactive workshops. The program is built on three pillars of capital: financial capital, human capital, and social capital. It covers topics most relevant for entrepreneurs – from access to funding, network building, team growth, sustainable business, and more.

In addition, it also offers participants the option to mix and match their favourite sessions and to build their own personal and dynamic program.

Day one of the event

The event will be kicked-off by directors Simone Schoutens and Shahar Graf during one of the annual returning event formats – the โ€˜Giving Back Breakfastโ€™.

During an (online) breakfast session, a group of tech-for-good founders will spend the morning connecting with executives and capital experts for personal curated mentor sessions. With a special focus on the future of food & agri-tech and digital health & wellbeing sector, featuring several renowned mentors such as Daniel Gebler, CTO at Picnic; Niels Boon, seasoned tech CFO/COO (previously Zalando); and healthcare leader and supervisory board member at UNICEF, Nupur Kohli.

Another session scheduled for the first day is the โ€œStartup challenges: Human Capitalโ€, where VC firm Volta Ventures and LevelUp Ventures hand entrepreneurs valuable insights about scaling and growing your team.

The event will also have an online legal corner for startups, guided by legal firm Wintertaling that will guide startups through the ups & downs of setting up term sheets and financing. New York-based legal firm Shelowitz Legal Group will also be present, hosting a Q&A session on strategic IP, helping entrepreneurs with questions about patents, copyrights, trademarks & how to protect their assets.

On the second day

Mobility Lab will help founders or talent interested in understanding how to approach launching partners. The session will focus on the importance of testing, to get potential clients and investors onboard. During the โ€œStartupRouletteโ€ a curated group of up to 100 startups gets a chance to join online 1-on-1 speed dating sessions with investors, hosted by Golden Egg Check.

On the second day, the networking will also highlight the importance of diversity in the tech ecosystem together with RISE, involving key women-empowering organisations and their communities within the Tech & Capital industry.

The third and final day

The program of the third-day highlights sessions such as โ€œFinding your way in the alternative funding jungleโ€ by partner StartupAmsterdam in collaboration with PIM Noord Holland. It will take startups through the many alternatives besides the most common source of funding, Venture Capital.

Each day (March 24th – 26th) will end with a networking session for all participants to continue conversations in an interactive way around different topics.
