Amsterdam-based startups that raised funding in June 2024; 3 of them are hiring right now

Amsterdam, renowned for its vibrant startup ecosystem, has been buzzing with activities this June 2024, with startups and companies from multiple sectors successfully raising funding.

These companies are continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, developing new technologies and solutions that address real-world challenges.

According to the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER), the Netherlands climbed to 13th place in the world’s top-performing startup ecosystems, a one-place improvement from last year.

Notably, the Dutch ecosystem generated $96B in value during the 18 months from July 2021 to December 2023, representing a 32 per cent growth compared to the previous period (July 2019 – December 2021), adds the report.

With such impressive growth in two years, it is no surprise that Amsterdam and the Netherlands as a whole are increasingly becoming attractive to investors and entrepreneurs alike. 

Having said that, let’s take a brief look at the startups that have secured funding and are currently hiring.

Bounce Watch

Avalor AI

The Amsterdam-based company has developed hardware-agnostic AI software that supports the integration and operations of unmanned systems from various original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and countries.

The company’s Nexus platform facilitates “multi-domain distributed mission autonomy’, enabling unmanned vehicles (across air, land, and sea) to independently plan, coordinate, and execute complex missions via a unified human-machine interface.

Cawa

Fund raised in June 2024: €500K

Cawa is a software startup that offers companies access to traceable carbon credits. 

Through its platform, the Amsterdam company provides API access to facilitate the integration of purchasing transparent, high-quality carbon credits for platforms and companies.

This allows all stakeholders to monitor the financing and impact of their climate contributions transparently. The APIs are already in use by platforms across the Netherlands, the UK, Denmark, and Spain.

D-Drops World

D-Drops is a WEB3 gaming startup that’s on a mission to add adventure to people’s daily lives. The game combines location-based treasure hunting with real-world rewards. The game will first be available in Amsterdam and Utrecht, with an initial prize pool of €100,000.

The platform allows players to explore their cities in search of treasures containing real-world prizes such as cash, concert tickets, merchandise, and coupons, worth up to €100.

Haaven

Fund raised in June 2024: €1.1M

Based out of Amsterdam, Haaven connects architects, engineers, and prefab builders to help customers bring their homes to life by guiding them throughout the process.

The platform then generates an instant quote and connects the customer with the appropriate builders. From there, Haaven oversees the entire process, ensuring support for the customer and accountability for the construction companies.

Prêts

Prêts is a fintech innovator, who looks to transform sustainable home improvements by making green investments accessible, financially neutral, and beneficial for all homeowners. Serda-therapeutics

SERDA Therapeutics is developing a proprietary product for wound debridement tailored to address severe burn injuries and chronic ulcers, such as pressure ulcers, open leg wounds, and diabetic foot ulcers.

The Amsterdam company’s enzymatic debridement technology is being developed to combine exceptional long-term stability with fast removal of damaged tissue, significantly reducing healing time and discomfort.

Carv

Carv is a recruitment AI company that has developed an AI platform designed to streamline recruitment processes by automating administrative tasks traditionally handled by recruiters. 

As a result, these time-consuming admin tasks will be fully delegated to a personalised AI, freeing up recruiters to focus on what matters most; the candidates they interact with.  

From writing job descriptions and taking interview notes, to populating ATS systems and creating candidate write-ups, Carv can do it in seconds instead of hours, claims the company.

KeokeN Interactive

KeokeN Interactive is an indie game development studio based in the Netherlands. The company’s first game — Deliver us the Moon was released in 2019, which was one of the first independent titles to support GeForce RTX real-time ray tracing.

Currently, the company is raising funds on Kickstarter to fund its upcoming game – Deliver Us Home, a solitary sci-fi experience where one astronaut works to secure a new home and future for humanity.
