Amsterdam-based Swipework, a video-based job platform that leverages AI technology, has raised €650K in a seed round of funding from AI software company Artific.
The Dutch-based platform officially launches on September 1, 2024, with expectations to achieve profitability by mid-2025.
“Research shows that 82 per cent of people aged between 18 and 30 are not even reading vacancies. Nowadays, people scan a job title, place of employment and salary. Why are companies still writing vacancies?”
A video-first job platform
Swipework aims to transform the hiring process by using video profiles and AI-driven matching to connect job seekers with employers, enhancing the efficiency and personalisation of job searches.
The company was founded in 2024 by Niek van de Schootbrugge, Maarten ter Velde, and Ferran Rohaan.
Niek van de Schootbrugge, says, “The way we consume information has drastically changed over the past 20 years. Job seekers want to get inspired before they even apply to a company. Text simply will not do that.”
“There is so much great video content out there, why not gather this on one single mobile career platform to make job-hunting easy, transparent and fun?”
By combining AI and video into a single recruitment solution, Swipework saves companies time and money on recruiters and job marketing, while job seekers avoid the hassle of reading vacancies, building CVs, and writing motivation letters.
Maarten ter Velde, co-founder of Swipework believes that videographic vacancies are the future of job boards. “The average vacancy contains 500 to 600 words. But if a picture says more than a thousand words, imagine how much companies can say with video. If you’re a company and you’re not receiving enough applicants for your vacancies, it is because you are not inspiring anyone!”
During its development phase, Swipework has attracted interest from various companies struggling to fill vacancies.
