Cloud computing is huge and its connection with business is growing bigger every day. The cloud computing metaphor is used to document a technology that allows businesses to store its servers and data off-site in secure data centres, which then can be accessed through the Internet.
Crazy adoption rate!
In fact, the adoption has reached across most industries and GPU accelerated applications areno exception. Based out of Belgium, Cloudalize, a cloud platform for running GPU-accelerated applications recently announced that the startup is opening of a new data centre in New York.
Accelerates Cloudalize’s global expansion!
With this addition, the company can support its international customers with their local business needs within the Americas region. The move is a part of the company securing €5 million in a Series A round of funding led by the Hong Kong-based investor Horizons Ventures. It’s worth mentioning here that the funding round has been supported by Europes, leading accelerator, EIT Digital Accelerator.
Low latency and improved user experience!
“Cloudalize’s customers in the region greatly benefit from the opening of our new data centre in the United States,” said Benny Willen, CEO of Cloudalize.
According to Benny Willen, a local data centre translates to low latency, which means customers can experience streaming at 60 frames per second, significantly increasing their end-user experience.
Creates new markets and distribution channel for GPU-intensive applications!
Founded by Benny Willen, and Jeffrey Meesemaecker, Cloudalize serves architectural, engineering and construction companies who benefit from pay-per-use, flexible and managed IT infrastructure without compromising on security, mobility, collaboration and 3D design abilities.
On the other hand, they are software vendors who leverage the platform to distribute their GPU-accelerated application on any device. The data centre in the United States is deployed in a QTS facility, a leading provider of hybrid colocation and mega-scale data centre solutions
Spatial Affairs Bureau – an early customer of Cloudalize!
Early Cloudalize customer, Spatial Affairs Bureau, an international architectural is expanding their US footprint as well. “We tested Cloudalize in multiple locations, and the performance has far outstripped the more traditional remote desktops we were trying to use for 3D designs and general office synchronicity,” said Peter Culley, CEO of Spatial Affairs Bureau.
Cloudalize can offer customers their resources in an alternate location
Moreover, the data centre is certified to the highest market standards: SSAE 16, ISAE 3402 SOC Type 1, SOC Type 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and LEED. Cloudalize has raised a total of €9.5M in funding over 12 rounds. Their latest funding was raised on Jul 24, 2018, from a Series A round.
“Cloudalize is an innovative company with a dynamic GPU-powered Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution that is poised to grow on global scale,” said Clint Heiden, Chief Revenue Officer, QTS.
