Last update:

Copenhagen-based Claimlane, a returns and claims management platform for brands and retailers that sell physical products, announced that it has secured €1.8M in a Seed round of funding.

Vendep Capital led the investment, aiming to boost Claimlane’s expansion in both the UK and mainland Europe.

This funding will fuel Claimlane’s efforts to advance its product vision. It will particularly focus on assisting furniture and lifestyle brands in streamlining and automating their backend procedures for product returns and warranty claims.

Simplifying product claims and complex return processes

Claimlane mentions in a statement that the fashion industry has set high standards for returns, but for furniture and lifestyle businesses, returns are more complicated and costly. Creating return labels is just the start. Challenges like return collections, warranties, and repairs require different workflows.

Managing these challenges with spreadsheets and emails wastes up to 80 per cent of handling returns. Existing returns software focuses on simple returns, but Claimlane helps businesses with complex products and processes.

The company streamlines everything from customer self-service to warehouse tasks, providing a comprehensive solution.

In the past, only big brands could afford advanced return solutions. Now, Claimlane offers return software as a SaaS solution for brands of all sizes. This makes efficient return management accessible to thousands of brands worldwide.

Since 2019, Claimlane claims to have witnessed growth. The company developed its first product and teamed up with its first customer, GANNI. Now, it has grown to include other brands like Hummel, Matas, Rains, and Søstrene Grene.

Claimlane says it has become the top choice in Denmark for making claims and returns easier. Currently, more than 9,000 brands and shops are part of Claimlane’s network. They work together to make returns and claims simpler and more standard across the retail industry.

Expansion in the UK

Claimlane has partnered with Vendep Capital as they offer expertise in scaling SaaS businesses for rapid growth and achieving unicorn status. “They bring strong expertise in scaling SaaS businesses for rapid growth and unicorn status,” says Claimlane.

Vendep Capital joins the cap table, which already includes angel investor Nicolaj Reffstrup, founder and previously CEO of GANNI.

Timo Felin, Investment Director at Vendep Capital, says, “After seeing what the Claimlane team has achieved in Denmark, we are excited to support them in their global expansion. Customer centricity and ambition are driving forces in this team, so we look forward to seeing their vision for the B2B return handling space come to life.”

Claimlane’s next move is into the UK to help furniture and lifestyle brands. The company has already opened a new office there, added new teammates, and partnered with brands like The Hut Group, FFX, and Cult Furniture.
