Brussels-based Cowboy, a designer and manufacturer of electric bikes, announced the launch of Cross, a ‘first all-road bike’.
Adrien Roose, co-founder and CEO, says, “Cowboy was born in the city, and we designed Cross to make every city greater. We have innovated around the riders’ wants and needs by increasing range, adaptability and adding suspension.”
“Our riders can go further and think bigger in terms of where their bike can take them. Cross brings the benefits of owning a Cowboy to a whole new audience; adventurers who want more versatility, more fitness, more freedom.”
“E-bike sales will surpass car sales in Europe by 2030, and Cowboy is leading the charge of this transport revolution; building the favourite model of transport in every home, offering more reasons than ever to get out of the car and into the open air,” adds Roose.
Cross: Everything you need to know
Cross, with its inverted front fork and seat post suspension, can handle city cobblestones and rough terrain. It boasts a new battery with 50 per cent more capacity, offering up to 120 km range.
Cross’s removable battery, made in Denmark, boasts a 540Wh capacity. This translates to a 60-120km range and a 3-hour charging time. Cross is available in three new metallic, satin colours: Lava (cool, dark grey), Mushroom (warm, earthy grey), and Moss (sophisticated green).
Cowboy reports that Cross offers an inverted front fork and telescopic seat suspension for a smooth ride, premium pedals for enhanced grip, and larger 60mm tires for varied terrains. With an integrated rear rack, it offers a 140kg load capacity.
Cross also introduces advanced software connectivity, prioritising the bike and rider’s health and well-being. New Live Challenges motivate riders, while “Check My Bike” diagnostics ensure optimal performance for every ride.
Alongside anti-theft “Find My Bike” technology, features like “Share My Ride” and “Predictive Alerts” enhance safety and peace of mind.
Cowboy co-founder Tanguy Goretti says, “The Cross e-bike offers a connected experience that goes beyond the norms of e-biking, packed with hardware and software innovation.”
“Connectivity is crucial for two reasons; it ensures both the health and well-being of the rider and their bike while enriching the riding experience. At Cowboy, we’re not just selling bikes; we’re selling fun.”
“Our commitment to rider-centric innovation is focused on amplifying this enjoyment and we cannot wait for our rider community to see what we have in store this year. The message is clear: come ride with us.”
Currently, Cross offers two frame designs, step-over and step-through, embodying Cowboy’s signature minimalist aesthetic.
Launching with an early bird price of €3499 (regular retail price €3999) and including Connect software as standard, Cross is available for order starting March 20th through Cowboy.com, Cowboy Brand Stores, and select independent retail partners.
