London-based Borderless, a workforce migration platform, reportedly announced that it has secured £2.5M (approximately €2.93M) in a Seed round of funding.
The company uses technology to simplify international relocation. It offers automated location recommendations, streamlined visa processing, and comprehensive relocation management.
By abstracting complexity, reducing costs, and saving time, Borderless aims to make the process of moving to a new country easier and more efficient for individuals and businesses.

The funding was led by Backed VC with participation from Tiny VC. Angel investors, including former Microsoft executive Charlie Songhurst and Entrepreneur First venture partner Chris Mairs, also participated in the round.
Backed’s Alex Brunicki told Tech.eu, “It’s troubling to know that a sector fundamentally about taking care of people is tainted and constrained by so much human exploitation.”
“At the same time, sectors where blue-collar immigration is most relevant – like care and construction – are also those with more limited technical innovation, presenting a talented team like Borderless with huge opportunities to create and capture value.”
“So we love what Matt and Jonathan are trying to build, the reasons why they’re building it, and the clear incentives to getting it right,” adds Brunicki.

Borderless was founded in 2022 by Matthew Bond and Jonathan Raphael. Motivated by the high and often unreasonable fees that employers and candidates were charged by third-party intermediaries, the founders of Borderless established the company with the aim of offering a superior solution for international hiring.
Borderless provides an all-encompassing automation solution that covers the entire process of hiring and onboarding international workers. This includes tasks such as recruitment, immigration processes, relocation arrangements, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
By offering this complete solution, the company claims to eliminate the necessity for intermediary organisations, streamlining the entire process of bringing international workers on board.
Jonathan Raphael told Tech EU, “We all have ageing parents and grandparents and are keenly aware of the rapidly increasing average age in the UK. The number of care professionals must grow from 1.7 million today to 2.6 million by 2030, to satisfy demand and ensure a good level of care for our elderly.”
“Despite huge numbers of talented workers, both overseas and increasing in the UK, complex processes for employers have become major barriers. Not to mention the terrible experience for candidates who can end up resorting to shady third parties that charge them – sometimes up to £20,000 – to find a job. We want to permanently solve this,” adds Raphael.
Currently, Borderless is concentrating on serving care providers that have a staff size of up to 500 employees. The company has a broader vision for the future.
Its ultimate goal is to expand its services to encompass a significant portion of the UK healthcare sector, with a specific focus on addressing staff shortages within the National Health Service (NHS).
This long-term goal demonstrates the company’s aim to play a substantial role in alleviating staffing challenges within the healthcare industry in the UK, particularly within the NHS.
