Based out of Stockholm, X Shore is a manufacturer of high-end electric crafts to revolutionise the maritime industry with the power of silence. Recently the company has raised €5M funding, led by Peter Dahlberg,
founder and former Group CEO of AniCura.

As per the company claims, the funding will be used to continue the development of X Shore’s high-speed electric 5.8-metre and 8-metre boats, and to ramp-up the team and new facilities in Stockholm.

To-date the company has raised €9.5M of funding, which includes round €1.5M of crowd investment through FundedByMe in the autumn of 2019.

Founder and President, Konrad Bergström, said:

A strong order book and growing demand for our boats make this the right time for us to take additional investment.

On the other hand, the company also announced the appointment of two significant hires: Jenny Keisu as X Shore’s new CEO and Oscar Fors, joining X Shore as the company’s COO. Also, Jenny Keisu, in her new role as CEO of X Shore she will be managing overall operations and will be responsible for the strategic direction of the company.

X Shore CEO, Jenny Keisu, comments:

X Shore has quickly become the frontrunner of sustainable electric craft and I am pleased to join the company as its new CEO, specifically with the backing of Peter with whom I have a longstanding business relationship. I’ve proudly spent the past five years promoting sustainability within the private equity sector, but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to lead a company like X Shore. With my new role, I get to embrace my love for the archipelago while working with people as passionate and impressive as Konrad and Oscar, and I couldn’t think of a better combination. Together, I know that we can bring about the transformative change required to save our seas and protect the planet.

In his previous role at Northvolt, Oscar Fors led the sales, design, manufacturing, and service of battery systems for industrial applications and large-scale storage solutions. As COO of X Shore, he will be responsible for engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing efforts.

X Shore COO, Oscar Fors, comments:

Building boats has been a lifelong dream of mine and the opportunity to combine my professional and personal interests were quite frankly impossible to turn down. E-mobility on the water is a relatively new space, and the world is yet to see the real impact of a new battery and electric drive technologies; the positive environmental effects will be huge. People will want fast, silent motorboats with exceptional acceleration, and they won’t want petrol and diesel to be part of the mix. Working together with Jenny and Konrad, I look forward to gathering a strong and engaged team of designers, engineers and boat builders to deliver on this fast-emerging demand, and to create products that people will fall in love with.

Konrad Bergström, who founded X Shore in 2016 will, as President, continues to spearhead the company’s global mission to bring sustainability and innovation to the maritime sector. He remains particularly involved in the design, brand building, and marketing efforts.

Notably, X Shore’s latest craft – the new Eelord 6000 and the revamped Eelex 8000 – were unveiled and commercialised in January 2020. Eelord 6000 measures 5.8 metres in length and is currently available for order from €149,000, alongside the 8-metre-long Eelex 8000, which is priced from €199,000.
