Climate change is real, and the need to save the oceans from fossil fuels and pollution is the priority for this startup that makes an electric boat. Based out of Stockholm, X Shore, an electric boat maker, has recently raised €1.5 million through a crowdfunding campaign on FundedByMe.

The investment campaign closed successfully on October 9th, 2019. The Swedish company is planning to use finance to develop its R&D, production, and development of boats.

X Shore Founder and CEO Konrad Bergström said:

“I am excited to have our new crowd investors on board for the next phase of our journey,”

Offer minimal disruption of marine life!

Founded in 2016, X Shore aims to become a market leader within the electric boat industry and offer minimal disruption of marine life with optimised user experience. The company focuses on providing a new way of enjoying the maritime boat life without harming nature.

Bergström added:

I’ve put my own money behind X Shore because I want a better tomorrow for our oceans, and I’m confident that together, we can, and need, to accelerate positive change to realise this vision.

Long battery capacity!

Founded by Konrad Bergström, X Shore’s vision and work are based on three pillars — sustainability, design, and technology. The boats made are 100% electric with no fossil fuel or loud noise.

He also added:

Our goal is to change how we travel at sea fundamentally, and it is incredible to see that so many like-minded investors have decided to back our mission.

As per the company claims, a lot of focus has been put into R&D, and therefore the boats can offer long battery life, making it possible to travel longer without the need to change the battery frequently.

Open-modular interior for endless customisation!

The boat comes equipped with the modular interior, battery, and magnetic gearbox, ensuring silence and zero air friction. Also, the company offers an open-modular interior rail system allowing to customize and add personal preference to the design of the boat as well.

Travel 2 hours on a single charge!

As of now, the company offers two models – Eelex 8000 and Eelex 6500, both operating in the high-end market with prices starting from €225k per boat. The company’s craft can hold up to 12 people and can travel at speeds of up to 40 knots. The company also mentioned that at a consistent speed of 25 knots, crafts are capable of traveling for more than 2 hours on a single charge.
