This funding will support HomeZero in expanding its white-label marketplace model focused on home sustainability. The startup has connected its initial customers as a result of this investment.
Making homes more sustainable
Founded in 2023 by Mike Out, Rens Hagen and Hunter Koppen, HomeZero is a fully equipped white-label marketplace focused on enhancing home sustainability.
The startup allows new players in the energy market, including financial institutions, collectives, insurers, and manufacturers, to engage with their supporters and accelerate the energy transition.
HomeZero claims to serve as a platform connecting supply and demand, offering everything from individual solar panels or heat pumps to comprehensive sustainable home solutions.
The company prioritises customer control and focuses on the importance of addressing both the demand and supply sides. Their open PICO platform, which stands for Platform Installation Capacity Optimisation, facilitates interactions between customers and companies, ensuring arrangements with installation companies and manufacturers.
Mike Out says, “Other solutions are needed for the next phases of sustainability within existing buildings. It has to be faster, smarter and, above all, together. With HomeZero and our open platform PICO, we help to convert the ample sustainable interest among homeowners into real action. And we ensure optimal use of the scarce installation capacity.”
Accelerating the energy transition with TSG
The Sharing Group is expanding across Europe with a focus on technology, energy, and mobility sectors. It aims to create social impact while minimising environmental footprint. The firm operates from creative hubs in Dutch cities like Rotterdam, Lelystad, and Amsterdam.
TSG views HomeZero as a crucial catalyst for advancing the energy transition.
Henri de Jong, CEO of The Sharing Group says, “We see that people often want to become more sustainable, but simply do not know how to find the right solution or cannot finance this. Together with HomeZero, we can work on solutions that remove these barriers.”
“In collaboration with other units within The Sharing Group such as EnergyZero and Hegg Energy, we are working on concepts that strengthen The Sharing Group’s vision towards developing the People’s Power Plant.”
The People’s Power Plant enables households to generate, store, and share electricity locally.
