London-based CUBE, a RegTech specialising in Automated Regulatory Intelligence (ARI), announced on Thursday that it has acquired Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence and Oden businesses.

The acquisition was finalised on December 31, 2024. The definitive agreement was initially announced in May 2024, but the terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition will enhance CUBE’s global customer base and expand to a total of approximately 1,000 customers in banking, insurance, asset and investment management, payments, and adjacent regulated industries.

CUBE’s Founder and CEO, Ben Richmond, says, “The completion of this acquisition is a major milestone for CUBE in a year that has seen many important milestones, including our strategic partnership with Hg, the acquisition of Reg-Room, and the acquisition of Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence and Oden businesses.”

Following the strategic partnership with Hg in March 2024, CUBE also announced the acquisitions of US-based Reg-Room.

“Thomson Reuters is best known in the industry for providing regulatory analysis and subject matter expertise combined with world-leading journalism and news,” says Ben Richmond.

“The powerful combination of CUBE’s AI and the years of human-generated content curated by Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence and Oden subject matter experts sets us apart in the

industry. This new dimension at CUBE will accelerate innovation and drive further growth and opportunity in 2025 and beyond,” adds Richmond.

Witnessed significant growth

The UK company has experienced significant growth, now serving over 200 enterprise customers, which make up about 40 per cent of top-tier financial institutions worldwide.

Additionally, the company has nearly 800 customers in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector.

The UK company has expanded globally by opening offices in six key hubs that focus on customer support and implementation. The company’s workforce has doubled to almost 700 employees, now spread across 15 countries.

CUBE: Specialising in Automated Regulatory Intelligence

Founded by Ben Richmond, CUBE provides a reliable source of AI-driven regulatory data for its Automated Regulatory Intelligence (ARI) and Regulatory Change Management (RCM) solutions.

Its technology, including the AI engine (RegBrain) and software platform (RegPlatform), tracks and monitors laws and regulations in every country and language.

This helps customers stay updated on regulatory changes and improves their compliance efforts.

Currently, the company operates in Europe, the Middle East, North America, Canada, Asia, and Australia, serving clients, including major financial institutions. These organisations use the company’s platform to simplify their regulatory intelligence and change management processes.

Ben Richmond says, “We are excited to welcome all of our new colleagues to CUBE – 2025 promises to be yet another significant year for the business as we continue to deliver further innovation focused on automating regulatory compliance and risk management for our customers.”
