DiManEx, the digital platform that aims to revolutionize manufacturing supply chains, has recently landed €2.7M in their latest funding round. The startup, based out of Utrecht, is active from incubator UtrechtInc‘s co-working space “the Garage”. The company has created a platform that supports the digitization of production processes and the optimization of supply chains.

A more effective process

In an interview with CEO and co-founder Tibor van Melsem Kocsis, we spoke about their initial goals when building their platform and company. Three things popped up which he found to be the central pillars of their platform. First, The platform enables production processes to be more effective. DiManEx helps companies identify which parts in their supply chain are eligible for 3D printing, and then matches and allocates their order to the right supplier before delivering to their doorstep. As a result, the amounts of unnecessary inventory and the associated overhead costs are dramatically reduced. In short, DiManEx digitalizes the supply chain with 3D-printing, making it more effective.

This leads to the second and third important goals DiManEx has: to deliver a better service and as well reduce the environmental footprints that companies leave behind. By digitalizing the supply chain, DiManEx ensures that companies will not produce too much or store too much in warehouses. Van Melsem Kocsis also stated the following: “These three goals are all equally important to the company”.

The complete package

When we asked van Melsem Kocsis about their place in the market, he made a couple of statements. DiManEx is an international company that offers a platform that provides customers with a complete package. And while the founder could not easily identify any big competitors on the market, he could say that there are some which provide a part of that which DiManEx offers. The platform is a cloud-based service that connects customers to a network of additive manufacturing partners. This way, industrial parts are delivered on-demand with the click of a button. Van Melsem Kocsis stated the following: “While customers previously had to go to multiple companies, DiManEx offers a complete package.”

UtrechtInc

Van Melsem Kocsis also spoke about how their current partnership with incubator UtrechtInc came to be. “I actually started as a startup mentor almost three years ago. Here I guided beginning startups. So when we decided to build DiManEx, UtrechtInc was the logical place to go to.”

UtrechtInc is one of the biggest startup incubators in the Netherlands. Their company is focused mainly on innovative startups with an IT component to it, with specific attention for health, education and the environment. With a community consisting of starting entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, young talent and friends, it is their goal to have a big and positive impact on society.

Their investors

DiManEx currently has two big funding partners, namely Marisan & Partners BV and La Terza SARL. They are very impressed with what DiManEx has achieved in just two years. They also share the conviction that additive manufacturing and other advanced manufacturing techniques will be a disruptive force. Eventually, it should drive “the reimagination of the supply chains of tomorrow”.
