Amsterdam-based Bounce Watch, an AI-driven startup scouting and performance evaluation platform, announced on Thursday that it has closed its pre-seeding investment round at a valuation of €2.5M.

The exact figures were not disclosed.

Notable angel investors, including Aylin Kosova Bilgin, Can Üzel, Deniz Güven, Dora Güçsav, Gülin Yücel, and Süha Güçsav participated in the round.

The purpose behind founding Bounce Watch

Cem Ötkün and Sedat Yusuf Ergüneş founded Bounce Watch in November 2023 after Ötkün found a significant gap in the availability of real-time, actionable data for investors.

“The initial inspiration behind founding Bounce Watch came from my extensive experience in the startup ecosystem and venture capital,” says Cem Ötkün, Co-Founder & CEO of Bounce Watch to Silicon Canals.

“Traditional methods of scouting and performance evaluation were often time-consuming and lacked the dynamic insights needed to make informed decisions. This realisation, coupled with my passion for innovation and technology, led to the creation of Bounce Watch,” he adds.

The Dutch startup was founded to streamline and enhance the investment process, providing investors with the tools they need to stay ahead of the curve and make data-driven decisions confidently.

The company competes against Pitchbook, Dealroom, and Harmonic.ai in the market.

Enhances scouting process and how

Powered by AI, Bounce Watch enhances scouting processes, monitors startup performance, and simplifies deal flow management.

“Bounce Watch not only provides live company tracking and tailored industry updates but also offers automated matching algorithms that help investors identify opportunities early,” explains Ötkün.

The company’s startup performance tracking covers multiple metrics, including investment inflows, team dynamics, technological advancements, website traffic trends, media exposure, and social media engagements.

“Additionally, our platform’s ability to expand and adapt to the growing needs of the venture capital community positions Bounce Watch as an indispensable tool for VCs and CVCs globally,” he adds.

Artificial Intelligence powering Bounce Watch

According to Ötkün, the Dealroom rival uses sophisticated algorithms to automate the scouting and tracking of startups.

“One of the core technologies is our automated matching algorithm, which helps investors identify startups that align with their specific criteria, ensuring they can spot promising opportunities early. Additionally, our real-time company monitoring provides regular updates on performance metrics, including investment inflows, team dynamics, technological advancements, and social media engagements,” he states.

Additionally, the Dutch company offers proactive alerts for significant changes that matter to investors, such as new investments or key team changes, ensuring they stay ahead in the competitive venture capital landscape.

“This combination of detailed performance tracking and automated insights allows for a more efficient and strategic approach to managing the investment pipeline,” says Ötkün.

Tailored support for VCs and CVCs

The company tailors its support for venture capitalists (VCs) and corporate venture capitalists (CVCs) by addressing the unique needs and objectives of each group, leveraging AI and real-time data to optimise their processes differently.
