Gelderland, Netherlands-based Joosten Groep, a team of specialists for infrastructure, water management, and urban green spaces, announced on Tuesday that it has invested in JustNimbus to tackle future challenges related to water shortages.

However, the exact amount was not disclosed.

With the strategic investment in JustNimbus, Joosten Groep will implement JustNimbus systems in their projects and thus scale up more quickly.

Additionally, Joosten Groep will support marketing and sales efforts.

What does JustNimbus solve?

Although the Netherlands is globally known as a country with abundant rainfall, water scarcity is one of the most urgent climate risks, as reported by the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) in a recent climate report.

Recent droughts have put pressure on the drinking water supply, leading to harmful consequences for nature, agriculture, and water quality.

Experts warn of a potential national drinking water shortage by 2030. It’s essential to prioritize

climate adaptation in spatial planning policies and building resilient infrastructure.

And here’s where JustNimbus comes into play!

JustNimbus: Pioneering rainwater systems

Based out of Weesp, the Netherlands, JustNimbus (previously EFrarain Systems BV) pioneers rainwater systems for households and businesses, which can reduce water usage by up to 50 per cent.

The Dutch company will use the funds to accelerate the national rollout of rainwater systems.

The seller was advised by Go Delphi and HLTHS Corporate Finance from Amsterdam.

Founded by Iwan Fransen in 2009, JustNimbus has developed a system that makes it possible to collect and use rainwater for various household applications, such as watering gardens, flushing toilets, and washing clothes.

“These systems have already been installed in 500 households, various companies, and large-scale new construction projects,” says Iwan Fransen, founder and director of JustNimbus. “For an average family home, JustNimbus provides about 35,000 liters of usable water per year.”

With a team of three employees, the company focuses on delivering smart and efficient systems that promote sustainable water use.
