The Zuidas in Amsterdam is one of the hottest finance and business districts of Europe. As a startup dealing in office-innovations, this is simply the place to be. But with global corporations even struggling to find some available office space, smaller companies might find it near impossible to get a foot through the door. But that door just swung wide open. Dutch office designer Ditt and ICT company NDI invite companies that innovate offices to join them in their WTC office and showcase their product for free.

Ditt is the largest independent office designer of The Netherlands. They’ve decked out offices all over the country with their Scandinavian-style design, efficient use of space, and clever use of new technology. All to create inspiring work environments suitable for the modern way of working. Years of designing offices all around the country provided Ditt with a wealth of experience and knowledge. NDI provides companies with advice about the best ICT solutions. They not only manage IT environments, supply Remote Office as a service and develop customised software, but also supply software, hardware, internet access, mobile telephony and TV. Something the company has been doing for more than twenty years now, with a personal dedication.

NDI and Ditt Hub at WTC Amsterdam

“We can do a lot,” NDI’s General Manager and owner Chris van Hattumsays, regarding finding ways to make offices smarter. “But there are also many areas we’re not necessarily specialized in. Instead of trying to figure it out ourselves, we prefer to find specialized partners for those things. With our new office experience that serves as a showroom, we can be the bridge that connects ideas and innovative products with potential clients.”

The office experience in the Amsterdam WTC will open its doors on the 24th of January. Ditt has 200 square meters available on Strawinskylaan 1 in Amsterdam, smack in the centre of the European business hub.

NDI provides all the new and necessary ICT solutions, while Ditt will design and build the interior of the space according to the latest requirements and trends. It offers a hospitality and reception desk, a meeting room and phone booth for privacy as well as ergonomic, flexible workstations and an area for presentations. A design composed of stylish black steel and modern colours with special attention to flexibility. Van Hattum: “It is important for this space to function as an actual office. We’ll be working there ourselves as well. But we also want to accommodate any idea that adds something extra to an office. So if we need to move stuff around for a new product or innovation, we sure can.”

Sustainability, security and many more

So what is the perfect office for the Zuidas looking for? According to Ditt-founder Mattij Kaak, innovation in a modern office touches on many subjects. Kaak: “It doesn’t need to be something technological. A good, new chair is just as important. But we’re also looking to expand our horizons. Sustainability is a hot topic in the corporate world, which we like to translate to the interior of our offices. So is security for corporations and offices, for instance, a seamless way to give employees access.” But he is looking beyond that, also hoping to see ideas involving, for example, providing healthy food for employees, opportunities to relax during working hours, interaction with clients or the creation of a healthy work environment.

Pitch your product, showcase at WTC

“We’re always looking for inspiration, so we welcome companies to pitch their idea with us,” says Kaak, founder of Ditt. And if it is something Ditt likes, they’re more than happy to share their prime real estate for free. “We might even ask companies that showcase their product to join us in the office for a couple of months. That way they can host people interested in their idea, invite clients or participate in events we’re organizing.”

By opening the doors to their Hub for other companies, Kaak aims to get inspired and gain some first-hand experience with new products he can use in Ditt’s future designs. For companies that get the opportunity to show their product at the hub for free, the experience will be without a doubt invaluable. Kaak: “Zuidas has over 900.000 square meters of office space and a lot of new offices are constantly being built. If you have a product that can make offices nicer or better in any way, there is no better place to show it off.”
